The saltwater grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu was updated with new items while keeping some of their best offerings. I swear the Shanghai Delight is strewn with Prozac because I am always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings in the hope that the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crispy and caramelized, but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I missed the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something substantial, so I was pretty disappointed when a small pot of crackers showed up instead...
The food was good, the menu changed a lot. As locals, we get used to items and some favorites are no longer available. Iceberg wedge, lobster risotto, both gone ????. It was also unusually warm there. The service was great, just warm and menu changes are big disappointments.
We sat at the bar and tried to be served. Finally leave after about 10 minutes. Just a strange overall experience of being ignored. Disappointed when we looked forward to seafood
This was our second visit to the Saltwater Grill. The food was delicious and the service second to none. We will definitely dine here again on our next visit to Galveston.

In the wasteland of restaurants up and down Cross Bay Blvd, this restaurant shines as a symbol of "what could be" if others would follow suite.
The cider salad was the best salad I've ever had! We had the crab cakes and they were amazing! The service was wonderful. Great food!
We ventured into Saffron for Mother's Day Brunch and it was pretty goodSince it was Mother's Day, we did not have traditional tapas.
We enjoyed a satisfying and tasty meal here in a sociable setting. The staff were good. The value was excellent.

Excellent food. Try the soft shell crab starter when it's in season and the spring rolls. Yum!
