After walking in I could see it was dimly lit, this did give it an intimate cosy feel, however it was difficult looking around to hunt out my friends. I have never had to write an email like this but unfortunately I've been backed into a corner. today the 20th of august 2023 me and my partner went to your establishment and after ordering some food one of the waitresses spilled scolding hot curry sauce over myself but mainly all over my girlfriend, none of the waiter staff came over to offer any help, we we're given clothes to clean and wipe her phone, legs, arms and body our selves, none of the staff offered any kind of first aid and after repeatedly asking for the manager he finally showed roughly 15 minutes after the incident with no apology or remorse just the narrative of defending the waitress and proclaiming the whole s...
We visited as my friend has a lovely little well behaved dog when we first went in it said dogs are welcome, so we sat down then this horrible waitress with dark hair in her 40s shouted you can't sit there . There were no signs up saying dog area so we just sat down, we went to the dog area , my friend put her coat on a chair for her little dog the same horrible waitress shouted in front of everybody your dog should be on the floor. Whilst the food was good, service good , the loud singing was not. Some female screeching at the top of her voice was unacceptable. We were here at 6 pm for a family dinner, 2 children and adults. We could not talk to each other other then when the whaling female took a break, several people around us left as it was TOO LOUD . We asked if the volume could be turned down but was told no! I love music but cannot see why the volume as to be so loud. It is not Glastonbury! It is a local pub. A total rip off. Ordered fish and chips, they were cooked in old oil and tasted so. The chips were soggy. A friend ordered the mail course mussels £15, plus bread at £1.50. He got 15 mussels. Last Sunday we went to the Little Haven Hotel for lunch, ordered the mussel starter £3 and got 11 mussels with toasted baguette. Steer well clear of the Sand Dancer. If it was possible I would have given a zero rating.
The good points about this venue are, Friendly staff Great Sunday lunch Dog friendly (great for me my dog) The not so good points are, The yappy dogs. It was a busy Sunday afternoon, so lots of people chatting, there was music playing, both fine, but on top of this there were a few extremely yappy dogs who just went on and on. It was just annoying.
Ordered quite a lot from the menu ! Not sure what kind of chefs they have but the refused to scramble eggs for my kids , then refused to put maple syrup on the waffles I’d ordered as they weren’t on the menu so had to order ones with pistachio just to scrape Them off ! In times where places are looking for business this is not how to get it
Visited after Great North Run when the heavens open, real Dunkirk spirit was shown by all staff who just got on serving and helping people. Service was brilliant. Adam Mills was a credit to the pub and helped us massively. Food and drink looked great

Attitude Disgusting. Easily the worst place. They don’t deserve to be open. But the owners must be blind deaf. Don’t waste your petrol.
