Happened upon Sankt Pauli one Friday evening, when staying in a nearby neighbourhood, on a visit to Dresden. We were lucky there was a spot at the bar in an otherwise packed joint and we had no reservation. Both the atmosphere and decor imparted...an intimate feeling, even considering the busy night. The two guys hosting were pleasant but seemed somewhat disorganised; as a result service was a little delayed. But it didn't matter to us, as it was entertaining nonetheless, being seated at the bar. The atmosphere is great, and the place is situated on a corner. It has a lot of light and when the weather is good, you can sit outside and eat and drink. The people are friendly, and the food is good. The staff are excellent,...and the drink menu is fantastic. This is a place to chill, or to eat before a movie. It's located in a trendy urban setting full of little shops and restaurants, and not far from the train. Lots of pretty girls and handsome guys are always around to chat with. This place is cool and it has a good wifi connection.
We stumbled upon this pub/restaurant while staying nearby. If it isn't the best pub in the universe I don't what is? We ate here twice. We enjoyed the local beer, Cote de Rhone wine and fabulous food. Thanks Steve, you're a gem. The atmosphere is...relaxed and cosy. As Australian tourists we felt privileged to chat to friendly locals. What a shame it's so far from Adelaide!
The service is really good and the food is excellent with a good price. You have many different ways to drink a beer and different types of beers, cocktails and gin tonics. The place is nice and cozy.
