"Great atmosphere and food. All dishes were great, but it was the beef jaw that stole the show. The fried beef cheek was incredibly tender and the paired sauce made it even more amazing. Grief Grief The waiters and waitress were very attentive and thus explaining every court. It was a great experience and I would definitely come back."

Disappointing. A missed opportunity. These were the thoughts that went through my head when I left this picturesque restaurant, hiding in a quiet alley on the edge of the CBD. Grief The marketing of Sasaki has a simple Japanese cooking and the ink-top-stamped issue on their "hay-infused Washi" placemats grow lyrically to appreciate the simplicity in design. In view of the passionate justification of the neighborhood of the restaurant, I should have been prepared for what ultimately represents as a normal experience. Grief The atmosphere is useful and uncomfortable. The dining area has stool without back (not ideal for a 2.5-hour Omakase), exposed concrete slab and bright hardwood benches,...

Tucked in a hidden laneway, Sasaki is a charming restaurant offering dishes which invoke the memories of childhood. All the dishes were very clean and familiar to the palate. Outstanding dishes: 1. Mushroom, fontina cheese and onsen egg. The richness of the egg yolk combined with the creamy fontina foam creates a delectable sauce which is soaked up by the crumbed mushrooms.  2. Mackerel sushi, the texture of the mackerel was divine, it seamlessly blended with the sushi rice.  3. Beef cheeks braised in red wine and miso. This dish was flavoursome and paired perfectly with mashed potatoes. The creamy mash was so finely milled and could have easily stood alone as a dish in its own ri...

The food is average average. The best court I really enjoy is shrimp, pork and two little delicious dessert. The staff are friendly. One thing I do not like is that I actually booked 2 weeks in advance to make sure I get a table, but it ends, but I have to sit on the counter. You do not have a reserve sign on the table at all when I arrive in the restaurant. I wonder why I would reserve myself around the table if he would end with sitting on the counter.
