Eating at Schilo’s today was the best time I had in San Antonio! Walking in I had a feeling it was going to be great experience. I loved the warm atmosphere, the Bible verses on the menus, the decorations, and last but not least the food was SO good. Joseph was my waiter and I’m so happy to say that he has such a great and kind personality, and a genuine care about what he does and also about each of the customers that he served! He went above and beyond with everything that he did! The staff overall was very friendly and kind. I would definitely recommend Schilo’s to my family and friends, and will be coming back again! ?

Such a great restaurant! Came highly recommended by our Segway tour guide, Robert/Roberto! We’re so glad we went! The service was quick, accurate, and friendly! We got the schnitzel (2 kinds, the pork and chicken) and got it with the sauce to make it jaegerschnitzel, pretzel with beer cheese (best beer cheese I’ve EVER had), root beer, and a spiked root beer! Everything was delicious and very authentic! I highly recommend this restaurant!

What an unexpected delight this restaurant is. I stopped in during lunch last winter and had a bowl of the chicken and dumplings. Let me just say wow! The food was really good I did not stay to eat it there, but took it to go so I cannot attest to the staff. Although I must say it was bustling with activity so they are doing something right! Get over to Schilos and give the restaurant a try.

We visited this restaurant for brunch while visiting San Antonio. We were told it is the oldest restaurant in San Antonio. The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was amazing, and it may have been the best brunch I've ever had! Parking: We parked a couple blocks away from the Alamo and paid $10 for all day parking. We were able to walk to the Alamo and this restaurant with no problem. Book a table now

Still just as good as I remember it from my childhood. The best split pea soup I 've ever had, the bottomless house made root beer is fantastic, a real old San Antonio treasure. Wheelchair accessibility: The exit is the wheelchair accessible entrance, to the left of the entrance.

food was great our first trip. second trip the famous gravy was watery and unrecognizable. that said, maybe it was a fluke. i still recommend trying. i mean it is the oldest restaurant in town!

Kinda tourist trappy but not bad and the food is pretty decent. The service lacked but that's to be expected at a spot like this. Don't get the bagel.
