My Son and I decided to go for Sunday lunch at a local restaurant he ordered shrimp salad I ordered Crab salad with new potatoes it arrived and it was well presented . But the utensils that were supplied to crack the Crab legs that is the best part of crab did not work my son tried to use them for me but he could not do it either I told the proprietor and he said he did not have any others,when I pointed out it was his responsibility to supply them he told me to take the crab legs home , I was outraged . I could not eat them and I had no apology , and no offer of taking my meal of of the bill . My Son was sick when he got home I think the shrimp were off I will never go there again absolutel...
Shocking hygiene practices and attitude from staff. No food Hygiene rating certificate displayed (I’ve since discovered it’s a 1/5) and no evidence of handwashing between handling raw and cooked food. Staff were rude and very dismissive. Pie I had was rock solid. Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had and it’s disgraceful they’re allowed to get away with this, especially during Covid. Please avoid I just hope I’m not ill!
Drove 10 minutes into town and back, only to get home to find I was missing my fish. Upon phoning, Seashell plain outright refused to come and deliver to correct their error. Terrible customer service, and most expensive sausage and chips ever as a result. Shall not be returning. Awful.
Great food at a reasonable price. Ordered fish and chips with curry sauce. The fish was tasty and the curry sauce was absolutely banging. Had a battered sausage too and it was huge, benefitting from both length and girth :

Visited here after a long drive back from Cornwall. The cod and chips did not disappoint; nor did the mushy peas. Friendly and efficient service. Give this shop a try, you won't be left hungry.
Visited for the first time since reopening. Plaice was dry and not worth the money. Mushy peas were basically a pea soup. Did not try any chips. Will go back to other town fish shops.
Omg appauling. Fish so greasy and small portion. Chips OK. Mushy peas and curry sauce where topped up with a kettle!!! Person serving no mask, and only take cash payment.
Visited for a quick bite to eat. Chips were freshly cook and tasted good portion was a good size very reasonable place if looking for chips in the town centre.

A very good portion of cod, decent chips and very good value. Best in the area for many weeks. recommended.
