I have lived in Bedfordshire for 26 years and have always found that you could not get good Cod and Chips between Coventry and London with all fish and Chips shops visited over the years providing bland battered cod with skin still on and what I believe to be frozen due to lack of taste and texture. However I have since discovered Sheff's in Biggleswade and it is a Fish and Chip shop Oasis in a desert of mediocrity. We placed an online order and the food was ready for pickup in just 15 minutes! When we arrived, we were greeted by cheerful and friendly staff. The food was cooked perfectly and not too oily. The gluten free options were excellent and would appeal to everyone. The gluten free chicken dish was a generous portion and tasted delicious. Sheff's has everything you need when it comes to gluten free options. (Eve, 9 years old) The kids' sausage was incredibly tasty! It was amazing. I wish I could eat 2000 of them! (Sophia, 6 years old)
We ordered a large portion of fish and chips, a regular portion of fish and chips, 2 servings of mushy peas, pickled onions, and a saveloy for the three of us, but couldn't finish it all. The food was freshly cooked and excellent. Our parents particularly enjoyed the pickled onions and mushy peas and even fought over the portions. It was a nice touch to receive a complimentary serving of curry sauce as well. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant!
Not from the area but a local mate told me of this place. Friendly and efficient service, fair pricing and great quality food. The kitchen seemed crisp and clean and the ladies serving were lovely. 5 stars would definitely recommend : great fish and chips! Kids meal (nuggets and chips went down a treat too. Proper chicken breast with a light batter coating. Not some processed job. Wonderful!

A big queue outside must mean something and when we came to be served we found out why this place is so popular. Excellent portion size of delicious fish and chips cooked to perfection and served by very friendly staff. The containers our F&C were served in kept the contents hot until we got home. Very good value as well! We are now regulars!
The fish and chips at this restaurant are excellent - they taste great, are reasonably priced, come in generous portions, and are served in a box. What more could you ask for? But there's more - the staff there are also very pleasant. I was greeted with a warm welcome and received service with a smile upon entering.
Been to Sheffs for a few years now but used the online ordering recently- so easy to use and quicker than ordering by phone. Only used to get one GF meal and one regular cod and chips but gluten free batter is so thin and crispy that we both have this now! Delicious !!
This place has some great reviews so gave it a go. Chips were great but burger was inedible, memory’s of school dinners circa 1975. Guess we should have ordered the fish.

Better than ever…. Been a while since managed to get to Sheffs but the food was a great as ever. Nice to see the Halloumi and GF options there too. Firm family favourite
