I've ordered from this restaurant twice and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. It's definitely one of the best options in the area. However, I highly recommend placing your order directly with the restaurant. The first time I ordered through Yelp (which uses Grubhub) and was informed that delivery could take up to an hour. After an hour had passed without any food, I called the restaurant and found out they had just seen my order and would prepare it right away. Another 45 minutes went by... still no food. When I called again, they stopped answering. I tried multiple times from both my office line and my cell phone, but nobody picked up. Eventually, I had to contact Grub...
This isn't a review of the food itself, but rather a warning regarding their delivery practices (or lack thereof). I placed an order for delivery via Uber Eats, and after waiting for 40 minutes, I checked the app only to discover that Sichuan Taste had canceled my order. I called the restaurant directly, and they informed me that they were too busy to handle my order. They should have never accepted it through the Uber Eats app in the first place; that would have been the appropriate course of action. As a result, I was left scrambling to find another restaurant for delivery at 7 PM on a Saturday night, and the wait times were quite lengthy by that point. Overall, a disappointing experience.
I was taken aback by the positive reviews I read. The restaurant is severely understaffed, with only one new employee trying to manage everything—answering the phone, taking orders, and serving tables—while looking confused and unprepared. The decor is dark and uninviting, with a worn appearance and sticky tables that clearly haven’t been cleaned properly. It was also uncomfortably humid inside, as the air conditioning wasn’t on. The Mapo Tofu had a strange taste; it lacked flavor but was overwhelmingly spicy. On a brighter note, the vegetable dumplings with chili sauce were quite good, with a particularly delicious sauce.
This restaurant has quickly become my go-to option for delivery. The staff is friendly, and the service is prompt! I really enjoy their hot and sour soup; it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. Their General Tso's chicken and chicken with broccoli are fantastic as well. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the neighborhood!

Oh my gosh, never again. The food was terrible. The egg drop soup had a foul odor, and the spoon also smelled bad. We had to ask for duck sauce, and when I finally got my meal, I couldn't eat it; the chicken was rubbery and the broccoli was rock-hard. I left hungry and came home still starving. Never again.
Everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken had the perfect crispiness and just the right level of spiciness. The dumplings in chili oil could easily be a meal on their own; the sweet pork inside pairs beautifully with the spicy oil. I can't wait to visit again!
I discovered some excellent Sichuan food in this area. They offer a wide variety of food and drink options. It's a hidden gem in Hempstead that is also very affordable. I will definitely be returning!
Nice size portions, good flavor, excellent service. My family and I liked this meal so much that we are writing this review sitting at the table after our meal.
