We were visiting from out of town. There was a line out the door and we almost decided to skip the location all together; however The efficiency of getting us seated went rather quick and smoothly. I was very impressed with the way they were nicely dressed in a sort of uniform which sets a standard for a “Diner.” Our sever, Ever, was Amazing and well as Anthony who step in to assist us with a request. The breakfast was fresh and the Waffles were the best we’ve had in a long time. Will definitely come back whenever we are in town again. I highly recommend you try them out. Thanks for the pleasant experience.
The atmosphere of this place is the best part, but other than that it's not worth the hype. We did not find the food to be that great (lacking taste? , and see that more is put out on it than it actually is. The taste advertised in their menu and the posters welcoming you as you enter the diner express the food to be like having all the bells and whistles but there is no sound. Bland, boring not tasty and savory. I expected more from this place. It was jam packed so apparently many like it. For a foodie like myself and family we tried it but don't find the need to go back again.
Chef Ype's transition to a more flexitarian style menu is definitely appreciated. There are lots of vegan options including a seasonal menu and some vegan milkshakes. Fun atmosphere and the food is always plated nicely. A good place to go with non-vegan friends or family. My favorite vegan dish is the tofu skewers with lentils.
A retro style diner that is open late at night in the DC area. There is a functioning jukebox at every booth that takes quarters. Compared to other stores that are open similarly late, it is a much better option.
