As a fairly regular customer I enjoy eating in the restaurant at Sole Plaice. The fish and chips are usually tasty, the helpings generous and the staff prompt, friendly and helpful. My main criticism is that the food seems to be served on cold plates. This spoils the experience of eating at Sole Plaice because the food (especially chips) gets cold quite quickly, usually by the time I'm about two thirds of the way through the meal. Cold chips are not at all appetising, so to counter the problem, the temptation is to eat too fast, which does not help good digestion! (So far I have never managed to finish a meal without the food being pretty well stone cold by the end). This problem is very eas...
The service at this restaurant was terrible. It was unclear if we could sit down or take our food to go. When we tried to sit down, we were told to leave. The girl behind the counter laughed at us when we questioned her about sitting in. The chips were soggy and the manager didn't wear gloves while cooking the nuggets. I will never go back to this restaurant again.
Got to say i had probably the worse fish and chips possible not up to the mark with the fish being in overcooked putrid greasy batter and not at all pleasant as were the chips a strange colour made of small bits of mush and bits of u pleasant bits of fat from the bottom of the fryer Was once the best fish and chips around
We discovered Sole Plaice by chance and decided to have lunch there. The staff was friendly and attentive, providing prompt service. The highlight, however, was the food. Both my wife and I ordered the standard cod and chips and we both agreed it was the best we've had in a long time. We highly recommend it.

Haddock and chips haddock was a little grease, chip was very nice. The small cod and chips the cod was a little grease but ok and the chips was nice and crispy. Over all the meal was very good, very nice, nice and tasty. Staff very friendly and polite Give it 8/10
one of my favorite fish-N-chip place in Britain and possibly the best in cornwall! Currently they enjoy a fantastic delicious cod and chips, as usual freshly cooked, excellent service and all round great experience. Thank you!
We always enjoy the freshly cooked fish and chips at this restaurant. The quality is always top-notch, and we appreciate that they still use dripping, as it adds extra flavor. This is our go-to spot whenever we are in Truro.
The seating area is spacious and nice. The service is friendly and quick. The fish is fluffy with a crisp batter, and the portions are ample. Overall, it is very good.
