I used to come here for lunch quite a bit with a client and heard they had new owners. I thought it was still very much like it used to be 20 years ago when I used to come. We all had different things-Chimichanga (huge plate with potatoes beans etc. 2 #25 and one other of the mixed plates. I thought the food was just OK. The salsa was way too hot (I mean so hot you really couldn’t eat it so I didn’t. I did ask if there was a milder version and there wasn’t. My plate was a cheese/onion enchalada (Ok a taco and chalupa. I don’t like refried beans so they gave me the guacamole on the crispy shell, which was nice with crisp lettuce and tomato. Ambiance is exactly what one would hope from a Mexican restaurant that opened in 1953, still has the concrete/tiled top tables made onsite in 1955, and revived by a delightful young neighborhood couple. The hot sauce (green and red) are plenty spicy but with a great flavor. The fish tacos (a Friday night special) were delicious cooked with tilapia caught fresh that day. The waitstaff, starting with Dayne, the manager (though the new owner was onsite as well), and including the servers are all family (well, seems like they are to the customers) are delighted when we've made it back in.

The food was great and the waitstaff and owner were in the top or maybe of professionals attentive from the start and so much so that we talked about it immediately when we were welcomed and kept talking about it after! We recommended this unique restaurant to our friends that live in Houston. Thanks

Good solid Tex Mex food. They make an honest margarita, we enjoyed the carne guisada as well as the chalupa (I added the chicken from my taco to make it extra yummy. The cheese enchilada was a good one also. Nothing fancy, but the real deal Tx Mex for YEARS in this location. Book a table now

This was our first time to this restaurant. We were here to celebrate our anniversary, upon recommendation of an acquaintance. Fried Chicken was awesome.

The staff were very nice. But the food was ok. The place is old, which is understandable its been around for 65 years but it should be cleaner.
