We went on Valentine’s Day so this would not be fair to rate them as it was any other night. They overbooked and put us in a front table by the bar instead of in dining doom. We sat there for a half hour and still had not seen anyone so we decided to just get up and order through the bar at our table. They were nice but it wasn’t your typical service and but they did end up getting us what we need. We actually never saw a server the entire night. The food was good but to say it was a great experience is far from it. The two other tables by us experienced the exact same thing I just think we were probably a little nicer about it
Let me start by saying my Husband and I are food connoisseurs. We love to travel and eat!! And we everything anything and everything. Well we thought we would try a new place for our anniversary and boy was that a mistake. The service was okay but also took 30 mistakes to cash out. None of the food was good. We couldn’t believe how bad it was based and recent reviews. The pork belly was like slop and tasted bad, the lemon grass soup had no lemon grass, and the octopus was mushy. Maybe they were short handed and that’s why the service took so long but the food.....
Second time here and of course the food was just as good as I remember. The Peking duck buns are AMAZING. Although I wish you would get more than 2 in an order, it’s definitely worth the $7. We both ordered fried rice and you get a bang for your buck. The portions are fairly large and I had trouble finishing it! The pineapple fried rice was very good with the chicken as well. The chicken was so tender and juicy very good job on that! I will most definitely be coming back and for happy hour!

Our dinner at Spice 28 was good. The food was pretty tasty and the portions were ample. They were bombarded with a huge party which left us flagging down servers the entire night. One of our entrees was forgotten and had to be ordered again. They did eventually take half off the cost of the dish. All in all, a decent place to have an affordable dinner in the city.
I really enjoy the happy hour at Spice 28—such great value for the price. The dishes come in generous portions and are very affordable. I’m a big fan of this place. I always find myself craving their Thai basil fried rice and drinking noodles, which are classic and delicious. The Pad Thai and curry are fantastic too, and their udon is definitely worth a try!
spices have excellent veg and not veg food, a great atmosphere and extremely helpful and friendly staff! I had nice pad thai and a mixed sweet dish and both were very delicious. I recommend this restaurant for an entertaining place to go with veg and non-veg friends while in the philly area.
Our waitress was a bit rude, but the service was good. Maybe we were a little hard to handle, being 4 teenage girls and parents and big parents who had a tough time to decide what we wanted and she was before. Must remember that a good service does not always mean a smile.
