This review is about the takeaway we ordered tonight as well as our last visit in September. We have been frequenting Spiceland for takeout since it opened 13 years ago. However, after our recent experience, we have decided not to return or order from there again. The korma we ordered was incredibly disappointing, with hard, flavorless chicken and an overwhelming amount of sugar that made it taste like a dessert. The madras also fell short, tasting like it was just boiled chicken tossed in a sauce of hot curry powder. This is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to for food ,, i’ve been to a few believe me. it was buffet style, I can’t believe the quality /choice of the food everything was kept fresh. The chicken and lamb was so tender and tasty ,,every dish in the hot plates was kept fresh not one thing was dried out like some other type of buffet restaurant you might of been to visit . My family and I recently dined at this restaurant and were extremely disappointed. There were very few food options available and half of the restaurant was closed, with the buffet located near the front door. The food was lukewarm and the chicken was dry and unpleasant. The onion bhajis were overcooked and inedible. The only dessert option was a single tub of ice cream. This restaurant used to be a favorite for our family, but it has drastically declined in quality. We booked for one of the special event nights The Rocker Sal show and what can I say it was absolutely brilliant. The tables were spaced out giving us plenty of room to dine. The buffet was delicious and there were lots of varieties to choose from and the staff ensured that the food was topped up throughout the evening.The staff were very attentive and always had a smile on their face which was lovely to see. I can highly recommend a visit to this restaurant for a lovely dinning experience and if you are looking for somewhere to have a lovely buffet and a night of great entertainment then book for the Rocker Sal show.

Food is pretty good, some indian classics and some twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. Loved everything about this place, from the traditional cozy ambiance to the taste of authentic Indian food, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for richness in flavors, This has become my go-to when I want Indian food. The food is delicious, the people are super friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.
Really rated this, went there with friends, came home full of tasty Indian food, and most importantly didn't feel ripped off it's a very fair price. People living in bar hill/northstowe/longstanton/north Cambridge area, why are you going into Cambridge for a £30+ per head minimum Indian, or getting a pricey takeaway? A similar travel time in Huntingdon direction will bring you to this little known Indian (at least for me I've lived in Cambridge area for 10 years and hadn't heard of it). And let's be clear it's an all you can eat buffet
The Royal Spiceland is Indian cuisine definitly one of the best option if you're living around Cambridge area. My initial visit was with friends and we had buffet option I was amazed by the quality of the food. The food was fresh delicious with right amount of spices in traditional Indian style. The staff is very friendly and the service is exceptional. I think it was absolutely worth the money and I highly recommend this restaurant.
On arrival the smell and black bin liners in the car park is enough to put people off. Food was average, barely warm and some looked like it had sat for a long time. Would be nice to have hand sanitiser available. 3 soap dispensers in the ladies toilets none had soap. Feels rather rundown and in need of refurbishment. Left feeling disappointed for the price paid.

I haven't been to Royal Spiceland in a while, but this visit was exceptional. The new dishes on the menu were outstanding, especially the Pepper Chicken, Achar Chicken, Lamb Chetinad, and Chicken Chetinad. I highly recommend trying them. The quality of the food was truly wonderful and I will be telling all my friends about it.
