I had an amazing first visit to this restaurant and it won't be my last! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, with a very friendly staff. It's perfect for families, individuals, and especially great for dinner after a day at the beach. The Lobster Bisque was outstanding and I can't stop thinking about it. The fresh local oysters were delicious and the menu offers a variety of specialties, including fresh fish. I discovered a new favorite dish, Neptunes Nest, which includes scallops, mussels, shrimp, and a whole lobster tail in a garlic cream sauce, served in a delightful bread dish. I tried to find a real local seafood restaurant in New Jersey Beach, and I think that's the one. The food is excellent, the taste of fresh fish was amazing. My wife got the Neptune Basket and I can describe how good it was. We were not impressed by the sides of Coleslaw, potato and spaghetti) but definitely the main plate was really good. Do not forget to bring your own wine and remember to taste one of the homemade cakes.
During our first visit to this restaurant, we tried their delicious soups: New England clam chowder and seafood chowder. The crab cakes, scallops, and grouper were our main courses and we were not disappointed. The portions of seafood were generous, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant in Pleasant, NJ.
What a GREAT experience! My husband and I were looking for a place near the shore with delicious oysters, friendly staff, and a lobster roll to remember. Spikes didn’t disappoint! We had a wonderful time sitting outside. We will definitely be back. Everything was so fresh and fast!

Fresh seafood- clams season. Not too salty as I can finish them without breadsticks. Chowder tastes better than bisque. Crab cakes (all crab meats) better than stuffed crab
