The restaurant was average overall, but nothing exceptional. It was not pretentious. Despite making a reservation well in advance for a special occasion, we were initially given seating next to the bar. When we requested a booth, we were told none were available, even though several were empty. Eventually, a booth became available. We questioned why we couldn't reserve at 6:00 instead of 6:15 since the restaurant was mostly empty, and were told that people were on their way. This seemed odd as our table remained empty at 6:00. We visited this restaurant for the first time and we will definitely return. We were seated right away and our drink orders were promptly taken. The calamari special was one of the best we have ever had. I also tried the flounder with crab special, which was delicious. We are excited to dine at Stack's again in the future.
Parts of our meal were really outstanding (the poached pear salad). Other parts were just okay (crab cake, brussel sprouts). Meats (filet pork chop) were cooked perfectly. This is one of our favs and consistently very good food and service. My salmon was a little bit over cooked this time, but this will not stop me from continuing to patronize Stacks. Flounder with grits is always a winner with my husband.

The restaurant was really awesome and the food and service was excellent! My wife and I was celebrating our first wedding anniversary and they recognized us made us feel special and took good care of us and we will return there again
