Liked it will go again... let's tell you why. The staff are nice some particularly more so than others. I only had a light starter dessert from the menu and I liked my food choices, see photos. They had a live singer performing in the garden and this really added to the experience. Seating indoors I loved and I didn't choose to sit out however there are plenty of seating spaces. Good sized car park and I noted off the table top publicity that there are some featured events coming up which I am planning on going to. FYI it's a Greene King pub and I was pleasantly surprised... defo going back!
Visited today with my husband and 2 children for an early dinner. You could see the pub was very busy as you would expect on a Sunday but that didn’t stop the staff being extremely attentive. Food arrived quickly and can honestly say this is the best roast I have had in years (aside from a home cooked! . The portion sizes were perfect, we actually ordered extra roast potatoes as we find normally you only get a couple but both myself and my husband had 6 each! Child portions were also such a good size. Will definitely be visiting again!!
Disappointing experience yesterday lunchtime. Burgers dried up and barely warm enough to eat. Food crammed onto small plate. Fries poor and accompanying sauce missing. Staff did not seem aware that there should have been a sauce. Ordered on the app but this was obviously not being monitored at all. staff friendly but no sense of urgency (coffee left standing for ages before being brought to the table 2 others missing and staff standing around chatting). Nothing like as good as previous visits.
Amazing food, great host too. She was super efficient and all over service throughout The Star tonight. Me and my partner have left here this evening, 100% satisfied, and honestly, we have both said to one another this is by far the tastiest food we have eaten for our entire relationship together. Many thanks for the hospitality, we will definitely be back. I recommend here without any doubt at all.

The place looks amazing and very nice outside places ,,, the food looks good but unfortunately the steak was not woww just oky small size and not worth it the price of 16 pounds,,, but to be honest when the manager saw I didn't eat it he refunded what I paid for that steak,,, good service but not woww food,,,sorry for that review
Went to the Star this evening and the atmosphere was amazing. It was busy, there was a great buzz and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The staff were really friendly and went above and beyond. The cocktails were spot on...I would definitely recommend coming here for a meal or drinks with friends. Will be back for sure. x
Really fancied an afternoon in a nice country pub. The star was recommended so we popped in for lunch a few drinks. It was a really nice meal with lovely attentive staff. The pub itself is a lovely place to sit and enjoy surroundings. Will definitely be back. We had steak and it was cooked beautifully.
Authentic old British pub with friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Food was tasty, with good presentation.
