Driving through Illinois and remembered how great Steak and shake was....yes WAS! It tasted like dog food and had no flavor on the fries and the shake tasted like it had something else in it that was putrid. Talk about jumping the shark to the quality is used to be. The meat use to be meat but this was something totally different. YUK! I suggest you rethink this food for life.
the only thing I liked on the menu was removed, no one has set us, no one has brought our table or refilled our drink. it was all di. order and pay before you even sit down, including the top. I have no reason to go back. I hope the chef has the whole tipp, he was the only one who works and the entrance to the parking lot has probably damaged my vehicle.
8/21/22 330 clock. only a few employees work, but they have made a fabulous job. cook also took orders. he was exceptionally friendly, even if other customers were demanding. eat tastes great! cook even brought our shake to us and cared for more demanding customers. Get away!

Stopped on our way to St.Louis (2:00pm)-I had a bad feeling walking in-dirty windows, dirty tables, prep area was gross, employees were not welcoming, food was greasy…I should have never entered. This location does not represent the franchise in a positive light!
Seemed very short staffed. People working were very frantic and even had to turn people away since they were so behind. There was no ice for drinks and food order was wrong. Not the greatest experience.
Stopped by here around 3p the other day and ordered a single combo at the drive thru. Fries were okay, drink was fine but the burger was a mess.
next door to our hotel so we went. always good food. everything we expected. service well they give them the kittens they need without asking. Book a table now
Food is good, but the place is dirty. The floor especially, your shoes stick to it. Also didn't get our cheese with 2 orders of cheese fries.
