Waited in drive thru for more than 20 minutes with only 2 cars ahead of me. Not serving inside so that shouldn?t have been an issue. Got to window given wrong order. Had ordered 3 shakes which were not good . More whipped cream than ice cream. Servertold us her machine was not working good ordered chocolate shake because they had no malt. It was like a vanilla shake. Mygrandsons Kit Kat shake was the same. Will never patronize them again. Tried to call to speak to manager no answer. Poor poorservice and product.
This restaurant will keep you waiting for hours in the drive-thru! It's impossible to reach management to file complaints. The food is served undercooked, and the meat looks dry. The milkshakes taste bitter, as if the mix has expired. There seems to be a lack of sanitation, with cross-contamination present in the food. Someone needs to investigate this before customers start getting seriously ill. Please be cautious if you choose to eat here; you never know what's happening inside this location!
As others have mentioned, it feels like the owners have left this place to the employees without any guidance. 1. Please stop touching the straws and placing them in drinks—this isn’t the 1950s anymore. 2. When I order a cheeseburger with only ketchup, I expect cheese to be included; if I wanted no cheese, I would order a hamburger. 3. Using tamper-proof stickers on the side of a bag doesn’t actually enhance tamper resistance. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend coming here.
This restaurant is not worth the hour it takes to go through the drive-thru! There is no way to contact management to file a complaint. The uncooked meat looks dry and milkshakes taste like the mix expired with a bitter aftertaste. It seems like no sanitation is being carried out, leading to contamination of the food. It is risky to eat here, as the standards are not clear. Something needs to be done to address these issues before people get sick.

I love this Steak 'n Shake in Mount Prospect! It's open 24 hours, clean, and perfect for a quick burger or satisfying a milkshake craving. I decided to try something different and ordered their footlong hot dog, which was delicious. I requested grilled onions on top, which was the best decision. To wash it down, I enjoyed a Reese's peanut butter cup shake. My husband got the Wisconsin butter burger, which was a good size and a great price.
As others stated...seems like owners just abandoned it to employees with no leadership. 1. Stop touching the straws and putting them into drinks..this is not 1950. 2. Ketchup only on a cheeseburger doesn 't mean no cheese.... hamburger=no cheese: cheeseburger=cheese. 3. Using tamper proof stickers on the side of a bag does nothing for tamper resistance.Just don 't bother to go here.
This steak and shake is terrible, its like its just been abandoned. Not sure they have a franchise owner or a manager at the Randhurst location. They close whenever they want. Like hours earlier than posted closing times and the food lacks any real care. Which at a Steak and Shake makes me think it's probably not edible.

The service was rude and my shake was disgusting. I ordered a butterfinger shake that had NO butterfinger pieces on top, tasted like peppermint and it had a very dirty lid. Which of course I didn't realize until I drank like half of it!!! NEVER AGAIN!!????????
