However, during our most recent visit, we encountered an unpleasant situation. We were celebrating my grandparent's birthday and having a wonderful evening when the bartender approached us. He started asking how many drinks we had and who ordered a second one, claiming he used to be a police officer and now worked here for his in-laws because they paid him more. This felt very odd and unprofessional. No one in our group was drinking excessively or behaving inappropriately; we were simply enjoying our dinner. It created a really awkward situation. My family loves this place, but we're not sure if we want to return if it means dealing with uncomfortable interactions with the bartender.
We had a wonderful dining experience with delicious food in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The fried dishes were served hot and not greasy at all. The seafood boil items were cooked to perfection, and there were plenty of options for flavorings and spice levels. We chose to get the seasoning butter on the side to keep things less messy, but they were kind enough to provide bibs, disposable gloves, and even a handwashing station in the dining area. Our server, Maddie, provided fantastic service throughout our meal. In my opinion, Storming Crab surpasses all other similar restaurants in the area. Sorry, no pictures—I guess we just couldn't resist diving into the food too quickly!
Came here on recommendation from a friend and I can say my high seafood expectations were met. The sauce (house cajun) was perfect with the right level of spiciness (you can choose your level of spicy).My family and I had the dinner combo and it was way more than enough for us, with leftovers to spare. Will definitely come in again for the dine-in experience, but take-out was great.The restaurant provided the plastic crab aprons which my family and I appreciated as well. As seafood lovers, we will be back!
Our families and friends know our crab boils and we pretty much expect crab boils to have thick and very flavorful sauces. We were very disappointed with Storming Crab's bland, runny, and oily Cajun sauce. Service was good however. Storming Crab is pretty close to my house so I want it to thrive. Need to quickly change your sauce recipes so you can compete with other options we have here in STL though. Book a table now
I absolutely love this place! It’s rustic, with a really comfortable atmosphere. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. My favorite is the crawfish, consistently flavorful and delicious! The staff is friendly and accommodating.
I had a great experience at this restaurant! I tried one of the boils, and it was practically overflowing with butter and garlic. Next time, I'll definitely request less butter and garlic because I'll definitely be coming back.
Me and my husband usually go around trying different places, so far Storming Crab has the best boils. Flavorful and simply delicious. A little high priced but it is totally worth it!

Really yummy food! The Kirkwood Combo is my favorite! The hush puppies are pretty good too.
