I go here all the time. I was here last Friday. Always a stellar 5 star experience. I think it was a new cook and he wasn't good at all. Didn't ask how wanted steak cooked then gave it to us rare and he had to take it back. Salmon has fishy taste it didn't have last week and was undercooked as were the vegetables. Only did sake 1x and didn't toss the broccoli ?. He had no personality like they usually have. Had to ask for ginger and other sauce..he never filled trays and biggest complaint was small portions. We NEVER LEFT THERE WITHOUT LEFTOVERS NEVER...Always talked about big portions. Had leftovers last Friday. So sad ?
Unarguably the best sushi and hibachi in the area. My boyfriend and I regularly eat from here, both dine in and take out. The sushi is phenomenal! I love when sushi places give you TWO shrimp in the shrimp tempura rolls they do not skimp out! So generous with sushi fillings and everything tastes so fresh and delicious. The dine in service is super attentive and quick, very polite waiting staff. The interior is beautiful, as well. Great spot for a date night or for some hibachi fun with the family! Highly recommended.
We were looking for somewhere to eat dinner on Christmas Eve and came across Sumou. The rolls tasted fresh and were great quality.Inside was nicely dim and there's two dining areas, one for hibachi which we will be back for!Service was excellent, yelp check-ins even got me a free glass of house wine! The rolls were beautifully made, and came out super fast.Pricing was perfect for a sushi restaurant, $8-$18 a roll and the appetizers were in the same range.
Recently moved to Long Island from Manhattan and was recommended by my neighbors regarding this place. Boy I was shocked by the quality of the food from the sushi to the hibachi since I use to visit many different high end Japanese restaurants in Manhattan. This place is just as good and priced very well. Not surprised that they've been opened since 1999!

My family tried this place last night for our daughters birthday. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. It’s been a long time since we enjoyed hibachi like this. Thanks for an awesome birthday dinner. My daughter was very happy! I’m excited to have a new hibachi spot!
Been ordering/going here for many years. Always Great and consistent food! Great delivery service, friendly staff.Edit: Delivery times 1HR+ now apparently..need to improve on that.
Simply delicious food for anything you try. I do take out and the food and presentation is always on point. Highly recommend for takeout or dine in.
