I go here a lot, sometimes love what I have to eat, other times not so much. The worst problem, - and it is on going - is the volume of the music. It is NEVER background music. I suspect that when the restaurant it empty the staff have it loud for their own enjoyment, but forget that once people come in to eat they like to talk to each other without having to shout. Went last Sunday (loud music again) and had the monthly advertised special in all the linked pubs which said "-------with prawns". Only 1 prawn, and when I asked why was told that they cut one in half, so that makes two!!!! Hilarious. It was very greasy and the salmon steak not very big, not the firs...
This Hotel is one of my favourite places to dine or even just grab a drink in Brisbane. The food is amazing and you are always greeted with a smile. As a Night Manager of a 5 star hotel, service and the way you are treated is above all, the most important thing to me and the service here is flawless. Whilst all the staff are incredible, Michael in particular, always goes above and beyond. He always interacts with customers, remembers faces and checks in throughout your dining experience and is one of the main reasons I choose to dine here over anywhere else. I always dine in this place with shop-a-docket. I totally agree with critics on the slightly over-priced steak, particularly, if you justify with the quality provided. Foods are frankly average, but paying just a few dollars extra for the second meal is actually quite attractive. Service at ordering counter is proficiency and friendly. Unfortunatley, the extra amount offering from docket deal seems reviewing too often by the management. Be careful, it will turn your regulars away!
This is a good spot for a casual lunch and we have been there a few times. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and the service efficient. We have not used the gambling area or Sports Bar so can not comment on those. Premises have been updated in recent times. Plenty of parking and large bottle shop adjacent to hotel.

My partner and I came here on the once off since we always drive past and never come in. The Sunnybank hotel was pretty ok as far as tavern/pub style food goes. The staff were friendly and the meals came quickly but nothing was that outstanding. Although the Sunnybank Hotel is great for families as it accommodates with a children's menu.
The lunch specials here are quite good. The food is reasonable (bistro quality) and my salmon was reasonably priced at $12. Some of the dinner items are over-priced for the location (over $30 for steak) and the counter ordering system. This certainly isn't gourmet but if you're after something simple in Sunnybank it is a good option.
Visited 3 times over three weekends for dinner. Some staff were excellent - allowing us to preorder as we were time poor. The food choice is wide and varied. Covering all tastes. Food itself was well presented and tasted great. Very reasonable prices. Meals for seniors as well as children. Would highly recommend for a casual meal.
Love the service and the food here. Staff are always super efficient and friendly. Steaks are always well cooked, risotto is another favourite. Aussie burger with chips is always a big hit. Can’t forget the salmon another favourite that is cooked perfectly.

Visited this establishment for lunch and to watch the Jeff Horn fight. The staff were very attentive on what was a very busy afternoon. Food was your normal pub-grub, but the price was right, food was hot and the beer cold. What else is there to say!
The Sunnybank Hotel Bistro is not the Brisbane Mecca for elegant or intimate dining.
