The fish and chip shop at A1 Surrey Hills on Riversdale Rd. (opposite Through Rd.) is our go-to spot for delicious fish and chips. The owner, David, is friendly and always up for a chat. The quality of the food is excellent, especially the generous portions of flake. In addition to fish and chips, they also serve tasty hamburgers, souvlaki, and pineapple fritters. One customer even made a sign for the shop door to advertise their opening hours and phone number (9836 6635). They are open 7 days a week and provide great service.
Its quite hard to find a fish and chip place that ticks all the boxes , but this one did. We have been searching for our new go-to fish and chip place. Owner was super friendly, noticed that it was our first time, goes to show he pays attention to his customers. We ordered the lunch pack with extra dim sims and potato cakes and there was more than enough to feed two people with leftovers.Batter is light and not oily at all. Fish was soft and melted in your mouth. Would travelling here for good fish and chips.
We had an amazing experience at this fish and chip shop! The service was excellent and the fish was delicious. The owners are very welcoming and take care of their regulars. Make sure to visit if you're in the area, and on a sunny day, you can enjoy your meal in the beautiful South Surrey park.
For our monthly tradition of ‘Fish and Chip Friday’ at work, we decided to order some fish and chips from the nearby shop. Our order included flake ($5.80), potato cakes ($1.00), dim sims ($1.00), and a hamburger with the works ($8.00) from the menu.

My 'almost ' local but worth a few more Kms for the extra cheeky potato cake and thick cut fish. Always a warm smile too!
