This is a small shop on Park in Alameda. We were there on a Sunday rainy night but it was extremely understaffed. There was only one server who work the entire restaurant but ended up cooking/preparing food behind the sushi bar as well?! As such, there was a long wait even thou there were only 2 tables dining in. There were a lot of take out orders and the 2 men kitchen staff were clearly overwhelmed. We brought a bday cake to celebrate a double birthday. Cake was given to the staff to be stowed during our meal. When we were done, our server asked if it is ok to bring out the cake. Instead of taking the time to look inside, which there were candles and matches, etc, he brought the whole bag...
We brought a cake to celebrate a double birthday, but it seemed to be overlooked during our meal. When we finished eating, our server asked if it was okay to bring out the cake. Instead of taking a moment to check for candles and decorations, he simply handed us the entire bag containing the cake box at our table. This felt somewhat lacking in terms of customer service, as most servers would typically present the cake with the candles already lit.
The food itself was decent but not particularly memorable. Overall, it seems unlikely that we would return for another visit.

This was a bit disappointing in terms of customer service; most servers would have made an effort to present the cake nicely.
As for the food, it was decent, but nothing special. Given the overall experience, I probably wouldn’t come back.
The restaurant offers a generous portion of food and provides a great lunch experience. The staff is very accommodating.
