Before leaving the town I had to try and take along some 'Solothurner Torte', which had been recommended to me. This product might be less town than other Swiss cakes, such as 'Zuger Kirschtorte' or 'Engadiner Nusstorte', but it sure is a treat and one of my favorites. A good place to get this delicacy is at the 'Suteria' in the very central main street of the beautiful little town. This cake has apparently been created at the beginning of the 20th century and has since been patented. It consists among other things of meringue, cream, eggs and hazelnut. It is quite soft and not easily eaten by hand. The 'Solothurner Torte' comes in different sizes. For take-away - as a present to my wife - I...

I have known cafe and bakery Suteria since 2001 already. High quality could have been kept ever since. Most products are home-made and premium. A couple of times I had the special lunch, which is offered for less than 20 CHF, and always was delicious. The staff is experienced and is reacting positively, even making the most of a stressing situation.Prices are reflecting the high costs of living in this area. But I highly recommend Suteria.

If you want to taste the Solothurner cake, this is the place. It is amazing cake, not too sweet for the people who doesn't like sweets. They have some other small snacks too but I guess people come to this place for the cake. The place was quite busy when we came. I can imagine it is one of the most popular place in Solothurn. However, the staff did pretty good job in providing the service. The coffee is worth the visit as well.

Solthurn's cake is a hazelnut meringue with cream of it, which worth trying, even though its price is more than four euros. Irresistible to look at, are the shop windows of pastry cakes, full of colors and shapes at Suteria. Book a table now

This is not just a cafe but also artisanal chocolatier. Very special and unique sweets that are beautifully displayed and I buy a lot of gifts there. I wish I didn’t have to go all the way to Switzerland for this

Visiting relatives in Solothurn and were introduced to this restaurant! The "Solothurner Cake" is simply delicious! Coffee great too! The location is a nice open space and it looks as it was recently renovated!

Lots of choice and a good place on a rainy day. Skylight extension at the back made it feel light and airy. Nice local hazelnut gateau and excellent freshly squeezed juices. Looked poular with the locals.

My husband chose the lemon sorbet and I had vanilla. We opted for cones, which we usually do not do, and we were not disappointed with our selections. Both were delicious on a very hot day.
