Had a weekday lunch here this past week, ordered the steak sandwich which I enjoyed. Upon arrival we were directed to take a seat wherever and and we asked for two menus. We got two drinks menus and one food menu so had to ask for another food menu which was provided. We then asked to order drinks and our drinks order taken. Not even a minute later the waitress was back asking if we were ready to order, when we had not even had a chance to look at the menu. Southport needs a place like Swannies. I have tried hard to enjoy it but they just make it so hard. Fridays they have a happy hour. First it is schnooners for $5.00, then it is stubbies as draught beer is not part of the happy hour, then it is again. Depends on which staff member serves you. Then last week not only is draft beer not included, after being told it is, they returned to say the schooner was $10.00, so no change due. Really is comical, expensive, but comical. How can a beer be $10.00 when previously it was no where near that, even outside happy hour. After many attempts it just seems too hard here. Yesterday we tried out this fantastic designed place. But why these huge TV screens everywhere, ruins the whole atmosphere. The bartender didn't even look up when I entered the bar and it was not busy at all (2 other people in there). The music is way too loud and annoying. The drinks are terribly overprized and after I discovered the sign for "Happy hour", we mentioned it to the bartender. No appology and needless to say that he didn't offer to give us money back. If you want to run an upperclass bar do your homework. It's not enough to have tasteful furniture, lamps and floors. And please don't promise things you can't keep.

I have always felt this place was a little disjointed, with bar and wait staff sitting at the bar, talking crudely whilst customers are waiting for take away orders in the quieter times. But after going in there to eat with a group on Wednesday 29th March 2017, with the restaurant at about 20% full, it was unacceptable to have orders take over 1 hour to come out or not at all, and the "Manager" blame us for not pre-ordering food before hand, because they did not have the staff to cater during lunch at 12:30pm. Would not recommend to anyone.
Have eaten there several times, breakfast and lunch. Standard menu, reasonable prices, service depending on who you draw. Had a disagreement on billing of specials which was handled well by the senior waitress on duty despite my temper. They have coped well with the street construction noise, which should soon be gone. We eat out on the Gold Coast frequently and will keep my dear old Swannie on the menu.
Cool place to go for relaxing drinks great deals and customer service. Thx Loui for my wife's bday drink and thx to the guy who turned the outside heater on. oh and also to the waiter lady so helpful with info drinks and food deals. Um although the lady singer could do with some lessons...jus saying
Coffee, Cakes, Meals and more ..... Swannies has great leather lounge chairs to relax on while munching on breakfast, lunch, dinner or in-between. I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely different for Labrador and worth a visit and make your own mind up.

Worst customer service. Food took long to come out, some meals weren't made correctly or at all. Staff were never unapologetic, tried to say that it was our fault. It was our first time at the restaurant and would never go back.
The customer service that I experienced at Swannie's was impressive! The food is reasonably priced and not only tasted amazing but looked beautiful. I'll definitely be back!
