I was lucky to discover this restaurant that serves delicious, fresh seafood. The grilled halibut was tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. The grilled prawns were also full of flavor. I appreciated that the mains were accompanied by large portions of salad, with the grain salad tasting light and refreshing with pesto. The roasted butternut squash was delicious, and the sauce was a delightful alternative to the usual hollandaise. The mussels were fresh, plump, and tasty. The food arrived quickly, and the service was efficient. Overall, one of the best restaurant experiences I've had. (No picture because we dove right in! XD)
If you're looking for fantastic seafood, Tailend is the place to go. My wife and I tried the fresh Sea bass and whole trout, both grilled to perfection. The food was amazing, prepared with skill and bursting with flavor. Located near the Old Course in St. Andrews, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The staff was friendly and I would gladly come back for the same meal. We were tempted to try desserts as well, but couldn't fit them in after such a satisfying meal.
Booked here from a recommendation from a friend. They do a kids eat free on Sundays which is always helpful with a family. What I didn't expect was how engaging they were with the kids. Colouring and pencils. Loads of specials on the board if you don't want haddock. Loved the local brewery options they had for a little tipple. Nothing was too much bother. Little thing I really liked was when you ask for ketchup you get a decent pot not a little thimble.

The food and customer service at this restaurant were both excellent. Many locals suggested trying their fish and chips, which did not disappoint. I also tried their delicious Seafood Curry dish. The manager even let us sample some drinks before we made our final choices. If I find myself back in St Andrews, I will definitely make a point to dine at Tailend again.
Tail end used to be arguably the best fish and chip shop anywhere. The fish and chips were crispy, dry and so tasty. Reason, they were cooked in beef dripping. Unfortunately they have now decided to use vegetable oil instead. The fish and chips are now just like anywhere else and also leave an oily taste when you have finished. What a great pity.
the waist is a beautiful, bright restaurant in the center of st andrews. the vegan thai curry is great with thick noodles and tastes great. the vegan cajun burger is a tasty take-away option (sag to the vegan mayo and chutney but the best bit is the chips! it is a great place for group meal as there is generally something to each one.

Nice light crispy batter and lovely well cooked fish, with chips and best tartare sauce I have tasted The toilets were very clean and presentable We were surprised to be presented with a service charge, as this had not been advertised previously, but there was no hassle having this removed from the bill.

had a cajun veggie burger (it is vegan) with chips, it had a red wobble jam on the top that was very tasty like the chips. next time, I'll have a little muddy heap on the side. had no place for the vegan lemon cheese cake.
