I'm really glad I checked out the reviews beforehand, or I might have overlooked this gem. The restaurant is tucked away in a somewhat rundown shopping center, which makes it look closed at first glance. However, the fresh sushi here is absolutely exceptional! I've dined at Nobu and many upscale Japanese and sushi establishments, but this place is truly top-tier! If you're planning to go for dinner, I highly recommend making a reservation, as they only have about eight tables and they were all booked when I visited. I even overheard them taking more reservations over the phone. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try—you won't be disappointed! The ambiance inside is warm and inviting a...

Don't be fooled by the humble exterior, that's hands down the best sushi place on LI! The fish is fresh and delicious. It's a small place, so it's a reservation. If not, it is absolutely worth waiting. Our favourite is the Toro (Fett tuna). Your selection is excellent. They offer a dessert, which is a Japanese flan and that was also amazing. The service is great. I recommend this restaurant.

This place may not be flashy, but it offers genuine Japanese cuisine. The sushi and sashimi are consistently fresh. Be sure to try the omakase; you might be pleasantly surprised by Taka San's creativity and flavors! They also have a great selection of sake. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone who loves sushi!

Sushi is simple in that old or frozen fish makes bad sushi and vis versa. Here, the sushi is fresh, and I can taste the difference. I come here for the staples, and I'm never disappointed. There is also a nice sake menu, and the staff is attentive.Food: 5/5 Book a table now

It is a gem place for authentic Japanese food. The restaurant outside looks very plain but interior decorations very Japanese style. All seafood with best quality and yummy! One of the best Sushi and Japanese food in long island area. My top 1 for Sushi:

The best of the best. Always fresh. Delicious! A little stain, but they are tasteful. Nice place for couples, individuals and small groups.

Excellent! Order the Omakase. You’ll enjoy the freshest, most flavorful fish served atop the most beautifully prepared rice. Great job! Book a table now

Best sushi in New York. I'm trying to make the trek out of town once a month. Sit on the counter and leave Taka-san your fish and go.
