Awful. The food is bang average and not particularly fresh. worse than that though, are the staff. I paid by card as I had no cash and she repeated my order to me which consisted of three drinks plus some sushi. She only gave me two drinks once the food was ready. She insisted that I only paid for two. I know this was not true but could not prove it. She was then reluctant to sell me the third (which I had already paid for) as it was a $10 minimum spend. Their error but still weren't prepared to budge. Appalling rudeness, no apology, and awful sushi. Would give zero if I could.

I was going here for years, but one night with my new mrs, the food was not good. Went back years later, the food given was not what was ordered (my wife ordered exactly as it was written on the menu) they offered take away. Turns out they meant the take away of the meal that was incorrect, as 1/3rd was missing. Yes my wife was starving, so had a bit while she waited for the correct meal (which never came) then they wanted us to pay for the incorrect meal. Very disappointing Tamagawa, prices up 33%, service down 33

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney! Have been going here for years. The Chicken Katsu roll, Grilled Salmon Lover roll, Cooked Tuna roll are a must! Tempura Udon is also really good. Staff are nice and friendly and I always feel like I am back in Japan when eating here. Only bad comment I have to unfortunately make is that when they are busy the service can be slow.

Tama Gawa is one of our favourite weekend lunch places. Always delicious and authentic Japanese, this quirky hole in the wall place offers much more than sushi (which occupies a smaller part of the menu, anyway). Green tea soba is fabulous. Can't beat the value for money, too a light but filling lunch for two can easily fit below $30. Book a table now

not the price they pay! the chicken was cold, soggy, and not really crooked. the sashimi was dreadfully cut and tastefully old, the majority of the two dishes consisted of mostly green leafy vegetables. we haven't even finished our meal times because we've been eating so much. please don't do it yourself!

Edit: December 2020 – Does anyone have any information? Thanks for any help! Edit: October 2022 – It’s been two years since my last update, so I’m trying again. Does anyone have any leads regarding my earlier request? I would be very grateful for any assistance!
