First of all, if you're planning to make a reservation—especially for weekend dinner—definitely **CALL** ahead to secure your table. We tried using Google to make a reservation, but when we arrived, they couldn’t find our name. They should consider disabling the reservation feature on Google or Yelp, as we aren't the only ones who’ve faced this issue. This left a less-than-welcoming first impression. Thankfully, we managed to get a table before the restaurant filled up later that evening. To kick off our night, we quickly ordered hot sake, but the hostess brought us a jar of sake chilling in ice. I was taken aback by this mistake, which almost made me cringe, although the hostess promptly a...

I've been wanting to come here for a long time so I had I hopes for a great experience. While I had a great time at dinner, I would say that the experience was a bit of a let down. Let me walk you through it.You walk into the restaurant and it's a simplistically designed and cozy restaurant. And to add, the restaurant was well staffed and was very attentive. Here are the dishes we ordered:Fried squid legs tasty and well prepared. I wish there were more.Eedamame nothing special hereTtako wasa was very tasty. Didn't really care for the roasted seaweed on the side.Ttoro tartare another delicious and well designed dish. Definitely an eye catcher.Hamachi kama tender but lacked flavor. Tara sushi...

My husband and I came here with a friend couple for a simple sushi dinner a couple months ago. We got a couple sets of sashimi to share. It was good, nothing mind blowing, but fresh enough for our meal. The atmosphere was nice and calm on the weeknight. Normally, I would have given this restaurant 4 stars, but the reason why we are only giving it 3 stars is because our friend is gluten-free/celiac's to the point where she brought her own wasabi and soy sauce. However, when she asked for rice, they gave her rice with vinegar that had gluten in it, which thankfully her husband realized before she had any. Despite the fact that we had told the staff that she couldn't have gluten, they still bro...

Great spot for sit down sushi and casual date night! Our waiter was quirky and liked to interact with the guest on more friendly level which gave the restaurant a homey feel. The fish was pretty fresh and food came out decently quick. Toro Uni Ikura Don: Tasted fine but was a little disappointed with what was included in the bowl. There was only a small singular piece of uni and the toro was not very fatty as all. Personally the least toro like piece of toro I've ever had. Would not recommend getting this bowl. Salmon Avocado Roll: Your regular run of the mill roll. nothing special but nothing bad about it either Ika Geso: My favorite dish of the night. Crispy and nicely fried. Loved the sau... Tara is a hidden gem on northern blvd just before Long Island. This middle ground is usually where all the residents of Long Island and Flushing can meet up for the best omakase experience of their life. Not only is all their fish imported from Japan overnight but they never fail to impress me with their innovative plating. Of course, this place is a drinking area perfect for after work but it crosses with fine dining and and a comfortable atmosphere. The head chef, Oscar is a sushi genius, if you will, always coming up with the prettiest way to appreciate good fish. Don’t forget to ask for their special menu or try the omakase.

Very good. Go early and you’ll have your pick of table! Food is on another level. Soooo delicious. The people that run this establishment CARE!!!! It’s such a big deal to eat somewhere filled with pride. I’ll be back for sure, for the food andambiance. This could be the best Japanese spot in the city.

This is an excellent spot to visit with friends! The sushi here is top-notch and among the best in Queens. If you're fortunate, the owner might treat the whole group to a sake bomb. The squid legs are fantastic as well! Overall, I’d rate the food a perfect 5 out of 5.
