We wanted to eat in the holiday home after our arrival and marched to Taste of India. When we arrived there at 18:30, all the tables were occupied and other guests were waiting. the manager offered us immediately to reserve a table for 19:30. We used the waiting time to look around in the place and take a walk. When we came back an hour later, our table was ready after a short waiting period. Called in for dinner without a reservation and immediately spoken to and offered a table. The surrounds were OK, a few flourescent lamps were flickering and on a cool evening the heating was supplied by a single calor-gas heater. On the way in you are greeted by some notices indicating rules such as minimum spend per person etc etc, not very welcoming. Of the two staff visible front-of-house the younger chap was very friendly and helpful. One of our meals was very good while the second was a little bland, maybe a poor selection. Overall the food was of a decent standard and if in the area again we wouldn 't hesitate to return.
As a tour guide I was recommended this place to bring passengers as its food is good. Honesty, the food was bland and overpriced for what you got. But the staff are outright terrible and clearly know that it's a high turnover of guests and unlikely to see them again. Terrible service pushy tactics to make you order more than you asked for, so be aware. The only way this place is open is because you have very limited options in that area. Service with a chip on its shoulder. I will not recommend this place again I'm actually disgusted and embarrassed by this place.
We weren’t sure what to expect when we arrived in this totally empty restaurant at lunch time but we were thrilled with our experience. We always find the Indian restaurants in the UK very good generally but this one was excellent. The food was all cooked perfectly and we enjoyed every mouthful. Very sorry we discovered this on our last day!

We walked in without a booking, restaurant was busy. Staff were quick to seat us, but took a while to get drinks and food order placed. Staff were friendly and food was delicious. Staff were efficient but could have used an additional member of staff, maybe.
Lovely welcome and prompt service. Tuesday night dinner for seven was a great hit with the family and the food was plentiful and freshly cooked. Been here very year on our holidays and always had a great experience.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Lovely food and a great atmosphere. The restaurant was very busy, I am glad we booked. The food came quickly and was hot and tasty.

Excellent food, friendly staff in a beautifully decorated restaurant. We will definitely return to again when back on Skye.
