A friend and I came here looking for a coffee... This is a Spanish-Themed restaurant. When we saw the menu, we decided on a sangria, as my friends had never had one in her life; unlike me, who has had them extensively in even such places as top restaurants in Mexico, Miami and Spain itself. When the Sangria came out, I can safely say it was the saddest sangria jug I have ever seen.. the taste was less than ordinary, the colour was light pink (from the very little amount of red wine they put in it) and worst of all was there was literally about a one pinch of diced green apple and orange rind and that's it... a one-fruit sangria; not to mention 2 little cubes of ice in it. I know we didn't ge...

Wed night 02/08/2017 after being seated for 10 minuted had to ask to have a look at a menu - didn't let the waitress go and ordered straight away waited another 30 minutes for the antipasto board in the meantime was not offered any water and didn't receive my second glass of wine. The restaurant was very busy and obviously did not have sufficient wait staff to cope with concert goers. The atmosphere was very poor felt sorry for the wait staff who were literally running trying to serve meals that were waiting on the pass too long, clearing tables etc. Had to attract the staffs' attention rather than the staff attending to us. P.S observed customers being turned away although there were empty...
We went to Teatro for dinner before going to the opera in the state theatre close by. The traffic was dreadful and so we arrived 10minutes late for our booking. We were seated outside, which was a little unnerving as we were placed at the end of a section where there was no roof above, and train was threatening. However apart for a few minutes of drizzle, that was OK. It was obviously a busy night, and it took a few minutes to get our order taken. We ordered just one course, a glass of wine each and some olives to nibble on while the meal was cooking. All the food took a while to arrive, even the olives. The serves of pasta were tasty but on the small side. We have been other times to Teatro...
We went there with a group of friends last Friday night for a pre-show dinner. Unfortunately our waitress mixed up an order and my pizza went to another person in our group. Not big deal - things happen. What happened next was really bad... The waiter took a half eaten pizza from that person and gave it to me. No apologies, no offer of compensation or free meal. Disgusting! We were pressed for time - the show was about to start so I didn't even have a chance to change my order. I hope that the management would take some time to educate the staff about what is minimum acceptable level of service and hygiene Book a table now
If you have been craving simply good meat and cheese, the platter is just scrummy. Coming from Sydney we have struggled to find anywhere with good cured ham, this is great. I shared the platter and could have had a second, the focaccia was to die for, the meat was amazing, the cheese wonderful. The mozzarella ! First time EVER I have had real buffalo mozzarella outside of Italy. Inside they display all of their ingredients, and I found that very luring, it seemed beautifully fresh, and the hanging meat was the sight of Europe that I so miss.Overall, loved it.
We have had the pizza here a few times before a show at the Arts Centre but recently went for the tapas. While the food was nice enough, the staff are very pleasant and the environment and location very nice, the price of the tapas is absolutely eye-watering. For example, the boquerones are $16 a serve, but as that is a serve of about 8 fillets of white anchovy, that works out at $4 per fish. Another: the empanadas, while tasty, are $6 each. I'm not accustomed to such robbery without having a gun pointed at me. Never again.
The food here was excellent. Not the cheapest place mind you, but well worth a visit for the quality. Can highly recommend the wood fired pizza, the lamb cutlets, the calamari and the meatballs. The rocket salad was also very nice. Handy location to Hamer Hall and the State Theatre. A few other reviews have complained about the service but we found it to be quite good the Friday night we were there.
Four of us heading to a show at Hamer Hall. Great location adjacent to the venue. Our table looked out over the river - a terrific outlook. Those tables had radiators outside that made it quite comfortable. The service was terrific and our meal of a selection of pizzas was great. Not cheap-eats but I wouldn't hesitate to return. We went here on a Sunday evening after going to the comedy festival. Good food, arrived in good time. However after asking for the desert menu no-one served us for 20 minutes, the restaurant wasn't very busy and staff were more focused on cleaning up than serving customers. Need to work on customer service.
