I gave it 4 stars because we rode our motorcycles from Louisiana to Texas just to eat here on a Tuesday only to find it wasn't open. The owner was only one there and she walked out to great us and apologized for being closed. Only open Thursday thru Saturday right now for I guess winter schedule even though we haven't had much of a winter. She was very kind and started telling us about other restaurants in the area we could get a good meal.. She then went inside and reappeared with menus for us to take home with a large back of very delicious cracklins! It's nice to meet owners like this still in this world who believe in service. Great mom pop place to eat, the best BBQ brisket and pulled pork ! Potatoes salad was absolutely amazing, loaded baked potato best I’ve ever eat! If there were 7 stars, this would be a 7star place. The outward appearance is very country, but the food is amazing. Nothing we ordered missed a beat on taste. The lady serving was so busy, we waited a long while, but in end it was worth the wait. Support local businesses like this, making America Great! My husband and I were in area fishing MLF, when we stumbled upon this place. Who wouldn’t love a String American Patriotic restaurant!!
We were welcomed by friendly staff and shown to our table where a server explained the menu. We decided to order the rib plate, BBQ brisket sandwich, and BBQ brisket platter. The ribs were tasty, but the coleslaw served with oil and vinegar was disappointing. It was essentially chopped cabbage swimming in a pool of oil and vinegar. My father also ordered the brisket and found it too saucy. We paid around $50 for our meal and left feeling unsatisfied. Unfortunately, we do not plan on returning. I am giving a 2-star rating because the ribs were the only highlight of our experience.
Amazing brisket!!! We happened to find this place after a hiking trip. The lady helping us was there by herself and explained all their menu items, then brought our amazing food to out outside table. If you're in the area or just want to make a trip, make sure to stop by Texas Joe's.

I was given a bill of $81 for 6 slices of bark sandwiches, without any drinks or extras. The sandwiches were okay, but not exceptional and on the small side. In my opinion, it wasn't worth the price. I wouldn't suggest this restaurant.
I drove 30 minutes from my house to try this place, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Brisket Nachos, and they were the best nachos I have ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant!
