Came for impromptu dinner on a very hot evening. Nice greeting from Danielle. Comfy quiet table. Refreshing beer. Garlic mushrooms and salt pepper squid to start . Tasty ,hot and nicely presented. We both ordered the pan fried Haddock for main from the specials . Just gorgeous ..a most delicious dish. Came with new potatoes pea shoots broccoli and kale light garlic and parsley sauce. Beautiful natural dish with not a chip or any batter anywhere. No room for dessert. Highly recommended. We will be back. Thank you Danielle Paul
We tried the Christmas menu at this restaurant. The goats cheese starter was delicious. However, we were disappointed with the Turkey roast, particularly the roast potatoes which were inedible. On the other hand, the seabass main dish was very enjoyable. The staff, despite being short-handed with only one girl working, was lovely and accommodating. Unfortunately, the surroundings and furnishings appeared worn out and dirty, with seats showing signs of wear and tear.
On arrival a warm welcome from Danielle who showed us to a table ,took our drinks order, then brought the extensive menu choices to us. We enjoyed our meal, will certainly visit again. We were pleased with the cleanliness and character of the place. We would not hesitate to recommend the Thatch and Thistle as a well priced and well presented food and drink hostelry.Thank you.
We arrived and were offred a menu as soon as I said we werejust having a drink the member of staff turned her back and said I'll take you to the bar sit anywhere and walked off. O ordered 2 drinks half a shandy and a large Chardonnay and can only say I was gobsmacked to get £1.10 change from a tenner. Apart from the price the atmosphere was unfriendly, never again.

A really love home cooked pub meal. Had halloumi to start and there were various main meals among the group. I had the fish and chips which was absolutely delicious. Great chunky chips and a giant portion of fish. Super friendly and quick service too thank you!
The local pub is fantastic with a friendly atmosphere. Katie's welcoming demeanor is a breath of fresh air, always smiling and happy to help. Sophie's sense of humor never fails to make us laugh. The manager, Emma, should be proud of her team.
Great tasting food. All served at the same timefir the whole table, good on quantity, value and taste! Really good food and good menu. Service was excellent. A really good time had by all.
We had a wonderful family dinner with top-notch service at this restaurant. I highly recommend trying the Thatched Chicken Burger, as it was delicious. The portion size was also generous.
