Service was horrendous. If I could give it a negative 5 I would. Had an early (6:30pm) reservation for 2 on a Saturday. Had flag down someone just to seat us. Then the fun really began. Despite the restaurant being 25% full, no waiter came to our table. After 15 minutes I has to get up and flag down someone else to send a waitress over. She takes our entire order including drinks … then no word for another 15 minutes. Now up to 30 minutes sitting there without drinks. So, for a 3rd time had to flag down someone to get our drinks. perhaps a reservation for the late birthday brunch of my sister. the vibes were very quiet. very small customers at this particular time. someone played the gitarre that added a soothing effect. my sister enjoyed her breakfast sandwich and I enjoyed the good morning montclair. my sister has an espresso martini that she enjoyed throughout. I had a hot mocha latte. it was delicious. our server, whose name I forget, was nice, she had short hairs, quiet. I wanted to drink something for my sister. it added on a cinnamon roll, surrounded by a whipped cream and a candle. it was a nice note. if they are for a cool, quiet brunch, I would recommend this place
We went to Allegory on a Sunday for jazz brunch. Well, first off, there was no jazz. There was a singer with an acoustic guitar. He was hooked up to a speaker system that was WAY too loud for the space. Service was not good. Our waitress was sweet, but clearly inexperienced. For example, she brought the hot water for the tea, but no tea bag and then disappeared while my water got cold before finally coming back with a tea bag. She didn 't bring our food to the table (someone else did) and never stopped by to check how anything was. It wasn 't great, by the way, just meh. We won 't be back.
we booked a reservation for the breakfast, and when we arrived, we were informed that it was an breakfast buffet instead of a regular menu. the breakfast buffet option was not advertised before the time. it was extremely overpriced $37.50/per person) and had very basic food options. for this price should have been at least one omelet station or juiceable. it was a very disappointing experience.

We love the Ambiance setting which is romantic, however the entree's could have been better it's we both have the fish entrée I had the Salmon and my wife had the Bronzini. The overall taste was ok not like some other Restaurant that blow your mind, as for dessert it looks like a kid menu type! If you are looking go out for a special night I wouldn't go here find another Restaurant.
we love eating there. we were already there a few times, but again there was only one server for the entire restaurant, so the service was particularly painful. the manager in a suit that hostess at the front or the barkeeper would have helped our poor waitress more. she did everything she could to maintain with all, but that was too many tables for a person.
The music was great, nce ambience, good menu, friendly service. However, it took half an hour to get our order taken and then it took more than 30 minutes before we were served. The manager treated us to a round of Mimosas which was a nice gesture. The food was delicious; the coffee was cold.
We loved our server! She recommended great entrees and when it came time for dessert brought us extra doughnuts because she saw it was someone’s birthday! That was perfect.
