Popped in for a light snack & coffee before an appointment at the Epworth down the road.Arrived and stood at the inside of the door aimlessly waiting for a few mins, walked over to the counter (interrupting two staff chatting) to ask if I just sit or do I order first and then find a table. I was told no, we will serve you, take a seat.I decided on the communal large table in the middle to save taking up as table. I waited while trying to catch someones eye over 15 mins. Eventually I asked one of the guys clearing another table if I could order a coffee. He said I will get someone for you. Another 5 mins and I was served, no time to chance waiting on a slow order so decided on coffee alone. C...

I don't want to be unfair, but I found this place quite disappointing overall. It's a real shame, because the food was great and once we were seated, the service was decent. However, I was extremely disappointed with their front of house. Don't get me wrong, they were perfectly polite, however our table was clearly forgotten, despite being clearly written on the list; I checked about three times with staff to make sure we hadn't been forgotten and each time was suddenly remembered, and then "moved to the top of the list". The staff also kept saying there were no free tables for us (there were clearly empty tables available that we could see) and then giving those tables away to people who ar...
I've heard great things about this cafe and decided to try it for brunch. Unfortunately my experience wasn't good at all. My meal came out with the wrong eggs, which was fine as they were happy to change it for me. They used the same bacon from the original meal which meant when the dish came out again with the correct eggs the bacon was pretty close to being cold. Seeing you are paying atleast $15 for a meal these days for breakfast it's pretty disappointing when such an easy dish like bacon and eggs isn't done well and comes out incorrect and cold. The service and people weren't very welcoming or apologetic about the stuff up, and made me feel bad for pointing out that the dish was not wha...
Came for breakfast as dropping off hire car across the road excellent range of baked goods all cooked on site. Very busy place even first thing Sunday morning lots of big family groups.Plenty of choice available both the breakfast and lunch menu could be ordered from. Food and coffee were excellent only problem was when we came to pay long wait took nearly 20 minutes to pay. Would go back just for the baked goods. Book a table now
I came here for Saturday brunch and the place was rocking. There is a good variety of options within the menu for breakfast, brunch or lunch. For some the meals may be a tad pricey, but for the meals we had, the flavour and portion size was value. The service was relatively quick and wait staff very friendly. Would recommend getting in early as it fills up really quick.
The Bakers Wife is in an area without much competition and it shows. The food is good but not great and also expensive, the coffee is good but again not great and more than I would expect to pay. The service is OK, nothing special and DON'T sit near the door on a cold or windy day as it is very unpleasant.
This is a great venue, cafe/resto/bar during the day and evenings, but also available for special events. The finger food was great, the space was excellent and the service all done with a smile. Need to try this for breakfast or brunch now.
One of the best cafes in Camberwell. Great vibe , creative menu, friendly service and lovely coffee. House made donuts are to die for. Highly recommended. Book a table now
