We live locally and have visited the Barn Cafe quite frequently, either for lunch, dinner inside or a takeaway to sit outside with after we finish work. The staff are always so efficient and friendly. As you can imagine in the peak summer months it's...often quite busy this has never negatively affected our visit as both the inside and outside processes are very well managed. We have always enjoyed great food and great service in a lovely setting coffee and cake options are always fab as well for something smaller, and they have a good choice of local beers. Just wanted to say WELL DONE and thank you to all involved, you do a great job and we really enjoy being able to visit so often!
Going to a restaurant located in a campsite, we were expecting nothing more than fish chips, pizzas and burgers. This was a totally wrong assumption as the Barn Café proposes a real restaurant menu going much beyond the food mentioned above. We took the...garlic and blue cheese mushroom chowder followed by the breaded scampi and the chicken and mushrooms pizza. We were served quickly and all dishes were tasty. We drank a delicious Swedish cider. We were lucky enough to have our dinner while the sun was setting down over the ocean just north of the Isle of Skye. Efficient staff, good value for money.
Lunch here when we saw the big reviews on Tripadvisor. We have camped in Big Sands in the past and it was nice to come back here (although there was no café in these days). Beautiful building and decor. We sat in the extension with... large windows and view of the side and bay beyond. Very pleasant service. Good selection of food on the menu and at reasonable prices. I had a haggis, cheese and sweet chili panini, which was delicious, served with chips and salad. It's a shame we weren't close to Gairloch, or we'd have eaten here again. Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful wedding evening at the Barn Cafe. Jay and his team did everything to make it unforgettable. The food was delicious and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere was very festive and authentic. And the prices at the Barn Cafe are very fair. We...thank the whole team for this very special evening! We will be very happy to come back! We went to lunch and were warmly welcomed. The staff took care of us and pampered our dog. The menu is not extensive, but what they do is very good....we had Schellfisch and Chips with the homemade tartaric acid sauce The views, from The...Barn, over Skye and the Outer Hebrides make this a very special place (of course necessary weather). Definitely recommended and we will return.
Opening night in The Barn. Very friendly, but professional and enthusiastic house front. Food intake. That was reasonable. Just delicious, fortunately would have paid more. Pudding was an artwork. Excellent service from the best front of the houseman we have ever experienced. There was a big party when we arrived, and the team of two was stretched, but professional, caring and at any time. The beer recommendation with an armed connection... was very appreciated. A highlight of our NC 500 adventure.
Booked a table and csme for breakfast! Only had one portion of salmon left and we had both hoped to have it so one of us got salmon, other had black pudding and bacon roll. Very tasty! Nice surroundings and friendly staff. Would recommend!
