The restaurant had a beautiful decor and a calm, relaxed atmosphere. The waitress was excellent - very friendly and attentive, constantly checking on us to make sure we were happy with our food. The Camembert appetizer was delicious, served with just the right amount of bread and butter. Our main course of beef and lamb roasts was cooked perfectly, with the vegetables still having a slight crunch that we enjoyed. The Yorkshire puddings were huge and tasty. Despite being too full to try the desserts, we felt that the meal was great value for money. The only downside was the toilets, which were a bit dirty and could use a refresh.
We were regulars at this restaurant in the past, but after moving away several years ago, we were delighted to return and find the Bell Inn just as wonderful as we remembered. The staff was friendly and attentive, the location by the river was lovely, and the portions of food were generous and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a pleasant Sunday lunch there to celebrate a birthday. The roast beef was a bit tough, but the vegetables were delicious. The desserts looked amazing, but we were too full to try them by that point.
The food and atmosphere were good. However, the two young servers completely ignored us after bringing our main courses. They did not make any effort to check on us or make themselves available. This was quite frustrating. In the end, we decided to skip dessert and I settled the bill at the bar. A 12.5% service charge was added, although we did not feel it was deserved.
Been a few years since I was last here and I stopped coming because the food and service was so hit and miss. Glad to say we had a really good experience, the food was really nice and definitely worthwhile going back. Service was a little slow but I'd definitely go back again

Good evening and meal at The Bell Hampton. Small problem with one of the meal’s which the manager dealt with extremely well. General the food was well presented, hot and of a reasonable amount. We all look forward to our next visit for drinks and a meal.
Great venue ideally located looking out towards the river with a superb back garden, Helpful polite staff would recommend. Chicken was a little dry and some of the chips soggy on my plate not the other guests though). Will go again
