I wish the food or service was half as nice as the ambiance. The waitresses were rude and we felt very unwelcome as People of Color there. I ordered a bowl of soup which was half empty and very lukewarm and tasted like chopped tomatoes in a veggie broth carelessly thrown in with a gummy piece of cold cheese in it. One star because of the ambiance. What a waste of a great location! P.S. The menu is meat heavy so if you're vegetarian, don't bother as they can barely serve a veggie soup.
service was terrible. eating was very little overpriced. the waitress had to ask 3 times on extra lemons for my water. has ordered an appetizer and it has not even been inserted. Eat was there for good 10 minutes before someone actually brought it to us. had to ask that my drink be refilled after I waited 15-20 minutes for our cards to be taken, I had to take them myself. she continued to add each one of our jacks its own $13 tipp when she was useless. I see why it turns off.
Very cute restaurant with nice outdoor seating. The menu features British food with lots of choices. I ordered Beef Wellington that was a generous serving and tasty. The beef and the crust were both tough. It came with fresh steamed broccoli which had no seasoning or sauce but it was good. The service was good, like the food, but not excellent. Prices were a bit high for the food. There was nothing special about the food that would bring me back.
a great restaurant! I know it best because it housed some of the meet for houkulele, a ukulele social group. besides their main areas, they have rooms that can be found for purposes like our Ukulele jams. this is a particularly valuable resource to have in this neighbourhood where many of the restaurants are too small or busy for larger group activities. I've been eating at the Black Lab since moving to Houston. Other restaurants have come and gone, but the Lab has always been here. Now she too is closing her doors for good. I'll miss this little English Haven. Thanks for the good eats and healthy laughter.
always a consistent favor. Bartenders are excellent and eating is still good, after all the years to be a customer. the place feels very warm and cozy. the seating outdoors are also a beautiful option with decent weather. highly recommended.
Excellent, British-style pub. Very good food. Sometimes too dark inside. Park in the parking garage in the BACK. Unpretentious, laid-back, very British atmosphere. I suspect it's British-owned.
I chose to dine at The Black Labrador on my birthday. I was not aware that it was closing when I made this decision. The service was awfully slow and the food was bland and mediocre, at best. Book a table now
Good food and a fun environment. The service was slow, but that was more due to the fact it was crowded and they were under staffed, so it is forgivable. Shame it's closing

"I really love this place!! Amazing coffee, delicious food and great desserts pastries. They are open until 23:00, so it is a really good place for evening work or study. The only drawback that has happened in several visits is to prepare food for a long time."
