Following the recommendation from friends we popped into The Burmese Kitchen to order some takeaway and very glad we did!We were excited to see some of the dishes that we had tried during our travels in Burma on the menu! A tea leaf salad was on the special board, as was a penny wort salad. We order these along with some curries. The staff were so friendly and more than happy to cater for the request of vegetarian, offering to make the salads without fish sauce and prawns.Worth a visit to Granville for this gem of a place and being so close to the train station it is easy to access.I will go back for sure!

We accidentally discovered this restaurant and were delighted that we did. The restaurant may be small, but the portion sizes were generous. The prices were very reasonable, but most importantly, the food was delicious. We had been craving a good fermented tea leaf salad since our trip to Myanmar, and this one did not disappoint. We also enjoyed the fish in banana leaf, fish soup, and crispy school prawns. Our bill came to around $40, and we had enough leftovers for another meal. For authentic Burmese flavors, you must try Burma Kitchen.

I haven't had much experience with Burman cousine, so would not be the best to judge how the food here compares to other Burman restaurants - but I can say that it is **** delicious! Super fresh, so tasty! Really unique dishes - I love the pennyworth salad, the street-style chicken curry, and the mohinga. Haven't tried deserts, but they looked amazing! Simple, non-fussy, casual dining to eat in, or quick for take away meals too. Servings are generous and it is really affordable.

We tried Burmese cuisine for the first time and I was impressed, as were my group of 10. Every dish was flavorful but not too strong. Everything tasted fresh. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially with helping us choose dishes from the menu. We will definitely be returning!
