Very good Mexican restaurant, we 've eaten here many times, as we live here So. Tahoe. The portions are very ample, all is very good, right down to the tacos. Tacos are normally considered to be small, simple food, but the tacos here are fat very tasty. The prices are also very reasonable. There are many Mexican food establishments in So. Tahoe, most owned operated by Mexicans their food reflects that point. But Cantina will give them all a run for their money. The ambiance is more of a fine restaurant, not a fast food joint. The cheese enchiladas are exceptional and truly authentic, paired with outstanding refried beans! This place is definitely worth a visit or two. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. The staff is very attentive, and both the bartender and chef are a lot of fun! We dined at the high tables in the bar area, where the chef made guest appearances, adding to the lively experience. It’s a fantastic spot for lunch, and we’re eager to come back and explore the dinner atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning!
Disappointed with the steak fajitas. Just a pile of onions. A few pieces of bell peppers, four very small pieces of steak. Worst fajitas I've ever had. Only redeeming aspects were good margaritas and our server, she was attentive and delightful. They dohave a nice patio. Our group agreed we would likely not return due to the food as it mediocre. May be a good spot for drinks andan appetizer
This restaurant is incredible! I tend to be generous with my ratings, but if you're passing through South Tahoe (or even heading to the north), it’s absolutely worth the visit. The staff is fantastic, the margaritas are freshly squeezed, and the carne asada is authentic. The guacamole is to die for—you can even buy some to take home. Make sure to add this place to your itinerary!

Visited Lake Tahoe for a week with my family. We’re Latino so we needed our Authentic Mexican food fix. Ordered the birria meal. The food was in fact pretty authentic Mexican tasting. Nice and greasy in a good was as expected with Mexican food containing red meats. Portions were a good size. Service was excellent as well.
Kudos to the chefs—everything we had was fantastic! The shrimp cocktail was perfectly seasoned, and the Asada in my tacos was excellent. My son really enjoyed his quesadilla as well. The service was wonderful too. I highly recommend this restaurant, and you absolutely must try their house margaritas!
Food had good spices and taste. Eating was hot as delivered. There was a big party, so the service was a little slow. Chili reano was a little understated and crispy. Stick with beer and wine drinks were weak and watery. Apart from that, everything was good and we'll be back.
