A few months ago, we made a reservation at this restaurant based on recommendations from friends. We visited for Sunday lunch, which consisted of a carvery. For my starter, I ordered a soup which unfortunately had a plastic lid from a store-bought soup added to it. The soup was flavorless and the lid was not ideal for my teeth. Despite this, no apology was given. We were instructed to wait until our table was called for the carvery, and we found the quality of the food to be lacking. The ambiance of the restaurant was very average.
This was mine and my husband's first visit to Chances Arms,we will certainty be going back there We were made to feel as if we were regulars there,Stewart and Holly are charming,and although it was very busy,they found time to stop and chat,The carvery food was excellent, Full marks all round
Sunday carvery was good value for money and there was a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff helpful and polite. My only complaint was not enough custard to go with the crumble. Tiny jug of custard. Would certainly go again.
Just great. Enhanced by an unbelievable magician, who visited each table to perform tricks. Food was great. Altogether a great meal out
