As for my previous review, I have to admit I'm a bit biased. This restaurant is a true gem and has been a beloved landmark in the Old Southeast St. Petersburg for over six decades! The current owner, a charming and hospitable 88-year-old English woman, has been managing the place and greeting guests for the last 40 years. She hosts afternoon High Tea for those interested and often comes by your table to ensure you’re enjoying your meal and to make you feel welcome.

Our group ordered the Fish and Chips, a Blackened Grouper sandwich with Cajun fries, another Blackened Grouper sandwich with onion rings, and the Seafood Platter. Everyone truly enjoyed their meals. They even treated us to a sample of their renowned Lobster Chowder, which I definitely plan to come back for!
Our server, Elijah, was not only friendly but also very knowledgeable and attentive. The only downside for me was the soda came in a can, which means no free refills—such a bummer! Overall, the food and service were outstanding. I really hope they consider offering fountain drinks in the future!
The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The service was excellent as well. I sampled several dishes for a bit of variety, and I ended up with more than I could finish. I prefer my chowder with a little extra Old Bay seasoning (having grown up in Maryland), and they happily provided some for me. Their Fish and Chips are among the best you’ll find, even comparable to those in England, which is fitting since the matriarch is from there. It’s a family-owned and operated restaurant run by three generations. They even offer a military discount. I highly recommend this place!
This little gem features the largest koi I've ever seen! You can't miss them as you cross the small bridge to reach the outdoor seating, which is so charming and inviting. It's been a few years since I moved away, and my granddaughter loved it here. I can't wait to bring her young friends to this wonderful spot. I had a pulled pork sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. The prices and service were excellent as well. I will definitely be returning!

She always had a smile on her face and took the time to engage in conversation with me, which I truly valued. The food was delicious, and there were so many options available on the menu. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.
The Chattaway has truly the best hamburger in St. Petersburg, hands down! It’s a fantastic place, and the owner, Jill, is incredibly friendly! Today, we enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared especially for Mother’s Day. It’s a St. Pete landmark, and I’ve been dining there for 23 years!

The restaurant boasts a fantastic atmosphere and has been run by the same lovely family for 60 years! Their fried chicken is absolutely delightful; if Colonel Sanders had access to their recipe, he would have been promoted to general!
