Hello, I walked the Greater Ridgeway across England during August September. I arrived at the Chequers a bit before opening time. But the lovely landlady made me a cup of tea. After a long walk it was very welcoming. Once they opened at midday I was greeted by extremely friendly staff smiling faces and lots of help with my onward journey. I had bangers and mash for lunch and a pint of cider. I couldn't fault this place at all , it's a lovely old genuine British pub with very friendly staff and very nice hearty food.

Exclellent disabled parking and access. server Kevin was so polite and made sure everything was perfect heads up to the chef for the food great value and delicious defently coming here again great atmosphere and loved it defently coming here again when I visit
Mixed generations of a family met for lunch. The pub was warm and welcoming with a cosy fire. The food was good, typical pub grub. The service was great and we felt very welcomed (including our dog).
good location, if they are on walks, the staff at the bar were friendly. could be with the removal of the old pavillon and with a bit of a redesign outside, but for a dug stop is a great location. Book a table now
excellent customer service, nothing was a lot of effort, went beyond and beyond. beautiful environment, felt comfortable. large portion sizes, good choice of menu.
Food was shockingly poor, over priced and awful customer service, totally rude, arrogant and sarcastic, never experienced service like it. Never go here again
Great little village pub does a superb pint of Abbott Ale, along with other Greene King beers also has a varied food menu definitely worth a visit Cheers
Visited with my toddler son, best friend and dog. We were made to feel so welcome. Had a lovely few hours sat by the fire following a cold walk. Book a table now
