My lunch experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The food quality was low and the service was lacking. Our two meals were not served together, and when the second one arrived, it was cold and everything on the plate was soggy. The chips were also cold, possibly because they were brought from the chip shop at the back. I would not recommend dining here as the overall experience was very disappointing and well below average in terms of food and service.
We popped in for an evening meal as the nearby fish restaurant had closed at 5.30pm. We asked for a mini fish and chips after enquiring about the portion size of the normal and mini ones. It arrived within two minutes of ordering it. The chips looked very unappetising and were lukewarm. The batter held an absolutely minuscule amount of fish. Certainly not as described. No desserts available. So a very unprepossesing experience.
The bartender was unfriendly. We waited in line for a few minutes, only for him to grunt at us and say he had to make sandwiches, forcing us to wait. We waited at the bar for 8 minutes, but he never came back. We ended up leaving and discovered a pleasant pub nearby with great customer service, where we were promptly attended to.
We visited here with our dogs for a quick bite to eat. We both had pizza, which was very tasty although when it come out it didn’t look particularly appealing as my partners looked undercooked and mine just looked like a shop bought margarita… however they were actually really tasty! The staff at the bar were very welcoming and the pub had a unique charm. Unfortunately, we were let down by the absence of cask ales. It is unclear whether cask ales are typically offered, as it was a slow evening and they may have run out during the busy Bank Holiday weekend.
Drinks only. They did not have decaff coffee so had to go for cider. Outside seating so can watch the world wander past on the river front and watch the wildlife on the water.
We were fortunate to get a table by the open fire . Service was fantastic and made to feel very welcome. Food was great, served promptly. Lovely afternoon family lunchtime
