The Crown - Table reservation

the krone is clearly oriented to food and is based on its trips on the middle market. it is located in bedfordshire near the a1 so is good for business meetings meals and similar. the personal was great and very attentive to our group right from the moment we arrived. some of our party had asked about the way and wise how the dings were cooked and they were quickly and completely answered. the menu has some interesting options on, but there is not a large number of directed to choose and most main courses are in the £15 series. on the basis of the prices I would have expected decent portions, but unfortunately some of our party were quite small, for example the fish and chips had served a sm...

I have visited this restaurant a number of times in the past (going back around 10 years though) and I've always had a very good experience until recently.. We were a party of 8 people during a very busy Christmas time. I ordered a beef (Sunday Roast) and it was terrible! Fatty and overcooked. The trimmings very soggy and gravy very thin. This was a £20 meal and definitely not worth it. I would have expected something more.. The service was okay but not very attentive. I'm assuming because it was a very busy period. Then a 10% service charge that I should have asked to be taken off but I didn't.. Based on my recent experience, The Crown wouldn't be my first choice but as I have fond memories...

on mother's day to lunch, although very busy service was excellent. both the soupen and the terrine appetizers were very tasty and a well proportioned platelet. the head of the bark was excellent with thick slices of bark meat, big yorkshire, sorted veg and probably the best bratkartoffels I ever had in a restaurant, also the heavy was really good. the fish dish, while tasty, was served only with potato, something sweet would have been nice. the strawberry-eton fair was fantastic. all in all a very pleasant visit.

The restaurant was not crowded, but it took 30 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. The Calamari was lukewarm, but they replaced it without any problem, which was a positive. The butter was too hard to spread on the bread. The olives were decent, and the children's meals looked okay. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

I had another amazing dining experience at The Crown. Their roasts are excellent and the staff is wonderful. The wine selection is also great. As a vegetarian who doesn't enjoy nut roast, they always accommodate my preferences without any issues, and I truly appreciate that.
