The donuts at this place are truly exceptional and incredibly delicious. You can genuinely appreciate the flavor of the yeast, which is a positive aspect. However, The Donut Bar feels a bit lacking in personality compared to the donut shops in Halifax and Charlottetown. At nearly $5 per donut, the price seems quite high. Also, they don't accept cash, and their point-of-sale system prompts you to leave a 15% tip for a person at the register who doesn't really do much beyond being there all day. Personally, I prefer to tip 15% or more for hardworking waitstaff who earn less than minimum wage. Despite these issues, I continue to visit because the donuts are simply too irresistible. The donuts looked amazing, and we couldn't resist grabbing a six-pack, trying one of each flavor. The donuts were wonderfully dense yet still melted in our mouths. The glazed varieties had the perfect level of sweetness, but we noticed that some of the specialty flavors, like the Cookie Monster, are definitely for those with a sweet tooth due to their rich icing and glaze. Overall, they make for a fantastic treat, and we will definitely be returning!
We have frequented The Donut Bar several times and have been thrilled with our visits each time! Even during the pandemic and amid supply shortages, they have gone the extra mile to ensure our favorite donut, The Dunkaroo, is included in our orders. This place is awesome. I made the trip there all the way from St.Stephen.The donuts are light and fluffy. But, my God are they sweet. Diabetics beware this is not the place for you.
I tried the Skor donut, and it was wonderfully light and creamy. The chocolate icing and Skor bits on top made it an absolute treat!
