Booked a table for my dad’s birthday with family as we offen do. Have been going for years and have always had lovely food. I ordered the special, Lamb Henry for just under £20. What I got was a large salad bowel full of sauce (soup) couldn’t see the lamb and was served with mash which dissolved in a couple of minutes and no other veg. Looked so terrible that I sent it straight back (something I never do) and asked for another meal. Was told I could order something else but would have a long wait! Didn’t bother ordering anything as everyone would have finished theirs. Terrible experience and unfortunately won’t go back. Sad as I had always loved the pub and even worked there for 4 years
This is a wonderful little pub nestled in the village of Staveley, near the Windermere caravan site. The food is your typical hearty pub fare, nothing out of this world. The service is very helpful and friendly, making for a comfortable experience on a rainy evening in the Lake District. I would rate the service a 5 and the location a 4 out of 5.
I was scheduled to stay here for a work trip and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was clean and peaceful, the food was delicious, and the staff were extremely friendly. I would definitely come back again. Rating: Rooms- 5, Service- 5, Location- 5. Highlight: Peace and quiet.
We only had drinks at this restaurant, but it was packed and the food looked and smelled amazing. The staff was excellent, friendly, and efficient. We will definitely return next time and will be sure to try the food! Location: 5 stars
