"This restaurant wasn't a bad choice for a quick lunch. The cozy atmosphere and quaint little spot were nice. The lunch menu was a bit limited, but the chicken, avocado, and bacon salad I had was tasty. The service was prompt and the prices were fair."

I have been living in southern Italy for the past 7 years, where I have gotten used to eating really good food on a daily basis. When I visit my partner in England, I am usually disappointed with the dining options. However, this time was different. The Exeter Arms restaurant proved that they are able to create incredible meals with passion. Both my partner and I agree that this was one of the best dining experiences we have had in England. The concept is fantastic, using quality ingredients and a menu made with love from a clearly passionate chef. Keep up the great work! We will definitely be returning to the Exeter Arms next time we are in England.

I believe the current management of this restaurant took over in 2020, so previous reviews may be outdated. During our 3-night stay for the nearby Burghley Horse Trials, we found both the accommodations and the food to be excellent. The restaurant has been transformed into a gastropub offering small plates of food prepared with great attention to detail. While not inexpensive, the quality makes it worth the cost. The wine list is carefully selected and they offer delicious cocktails. Gary and the rest of the new management team provided exceptional service. I highly recommend this place!

I had a disappointing experience at this popular pub restaurant for Sunday lunch. We paid £14 for a one-course meal that was not worth it. The traditional roast lunch we ordered lacked enough vegetables and only had 6 roast potatoes to share between four of us. The vegetarian options were also lacking, with one of us not enjoying the veggie pizza. This restaurant did not live up to its reputation.
