Visited this Sunday for Sunday lunch (first visit) and the experience was very disappointing. The restaurant was quiet with only a few tables occupied which gave a lack of atmosphere (not that the establishment can do much about this factor). The area was very cold and drafty which was quite unpleasant to sit in. Whilst the staff were friendly, one male staff member had a body odor issue which was extremely unpleasant. He served us our drinks and the smell lingered around our table. Not standards you would expect anywhere, yet alone in a food environment. The food itself was awful! I’m sorry to say it was probably the worst Sunday lunch I have ever had. The beef was tough, difficult to chew...

We were extremely disappointed with our Sunday lunch booking for 3 at this restaurant. The roast potatoes were overcooked, the vegetables were undercooked and not hot, the roast parsnip was practically raw, and the pork and turkey were tasteless. The meal did not include items listed on the menu such as pigs in blankets, stuffing, crackling, or buttered potatoes. Despite multiple requests, we were only brought a small dish of burnt crackling at the end of the meal. We would not recommend this establishment and will not be returning. Additionally, there were no track and trace records kept on the day.
Visited today for lunch. Ordered moules marinieres and traditional fish and chips. The place was very busy and they said food service may be slow. It wasn't and was served in around twenty minutes. They forgot the chef's tartare sauce and garlic bread but realised their mistake and rectified it quickly. Quality and portions were very good. At least four different staff members served us. Each one was friendly and efficient. £34 inc two drinks each was great value. We will visit here again.
We booked Fairways for our Bridgend U3A monthly birthday lunch. The food was pre ordered and there was no waiting , there was water on the table and drinks were ordered. Food was provided promptly and was well presented, delicious and portions generous. Staff couldn’t do more for us even to the extent of moving a plant pot from outside the hotel to facilitate moving my car out and waiting while I did so !!! An excellent experience and well recommended, we will certainly go again Book a table now
I have frequented Fairways many times over the years, but my recent visit after last year's lockdown was my first experience with their new menu. My wife and I both ordered the paella, which was excellent. The dishes we saw being served to other tables also looked amazing. Ian took care of us, providing attentive and helpful service to ensure our experience exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Fairways to anyone.
Lovey stay as always Great setting, there’s room for improvements in some areas which we discussed with the owner/ new manager who listened to our feed back and took it all on board lovely gentleman, we think he will be changing the hotel for the better. We have visited this hotel for years and always have fond memories so give this hotel a visit as it’s worth it and needs a chance to shine Mr Mrs Pike
Pre booked table for lunch. Friendly greeting from lovey waitress. All COVID secure. Lovely table with sea view. Prices for lunch very reasonable. All six meals excellent, food piping hot. Waitress very efficient and had great sense of humour. Cakes very nice too. Will be going back.
I had a wonderful experience from the moment I arrived at the restaurant. The staff, including the chef, were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the surroundings were bright, clean, and had a fabulous view of the sea. Overall, it was a great experience. Book a table now
Great experience. Chap on the counter was very pleasant. Jackie went above and beyond. Gave us the choice of 2 rooms. Great experience and lovely room.
Had a delicious lunch on the sunny terrace looking out to sea. We were welcomed and looked after by Ian and the team.
