Been here twice now and on both occasions it hasn’t disappointed. There’s something for everyone in this quirky slice of nostalgia with it’s wonderful traditional tea rooms set amongst numerous 40’s antiques. Traditional tea or coffee and an assortment of home made cakes and scones are served in china cups and saucers with plates to match! Even the placemats are worth examining as each one is a newspaper of those wartime years contained in a protective sleeve bu available to read whilst you await service. Antiques are numerous and varied from a 1940’s motorcycle sitting proudly in the window and available for purchase to facsimiles of wartime ration books and posters. In addition, there is a...

The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff. The menu is somewhat limited due to licensing restrictions from the council, but the owners serve delightful home-baked cakes and scones, along with quality tea and coffee on fine china crockery. While there are only a few tables inside, additional seating is available outdoors. The restaurant also sells antiques and collectibles. One standout feature is the absence of a lingering cooking odor that is typically found in many coffee shops in the area. Customers can enjoy free refills of tea and coffee as well.
My partner and I brought my mum to this restaurant after a remembrance service. We were surprised to find that we were the only ones there, even though the scouts had provided teas and coffees. The restaurant was decorated with fascinating Second World War artifacts and old newspaper clippings from the era used as place mats. It was really interesting to read through them. The coffee was excellent and the homemade cake was delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone in Irthlingborough, and suggest skipping the Costa coffees. My mum really enjoyed it!
This is a new tea shop with a difference, it is an antique shop as well as a tea shop. When you enter it appears there are only three tables but in fact there are more tables in the counter area as well as a lovely patio area. The homemade cakes were wonderful and tea for one had two teabags, so a quick stir and you had a lovely strong cup of tea, with top up. The atmosphere is world war two, with the waitresses dress as land girls. The cost for a couple was really reasonable. Will certainly be returning. Book a table now
Was brought here by a friend and what a wonderful surprise! Absolutely a treat from the moment you walk in staff friendly nothing to much trouble, look around lotsof memories of the war/ childhood. Then the best treat out wonderful tea and cakes not shop bought !! Homemade to die for and decent tea served in a pot with cup and saucer. Take your time and savour no rush at all just relax and enjoy!! Will definitely recommended and will be back!!
A group of friends recommended this charming find to me. Filled with nostalgia, the restaurant's antiques were beautifully showcased. The homemade cakes were a delight, especially the delicious Victoria sponge. I loved sitting in the lovely courtyard garden, listening to the chirping parakeets in the aviary. This restaurant is definitely on my 'must visit again' list. And let's not forget the quirky coffee pot - a fun little touch!
Some friends suggested this hidden gem to me. It is filled with nostalgia, with beautiful antiques on display. The selection of homemade cakes is amazing, especially the delicious Victoria sponge. We enjoyed sitting in the lovely courtyard garden, listening to the parakeets chirping away in the trees. I definitely need to go back soon. I also loved the quirky coffee pot!
I visited this charming cafe today with my parents and daughter, and it was absolutely lovely. I adore vintage aesthetics, so it was a perfect fit for me.
